25.01.2022 Leaving school is a transition into adulthood that is especially tough right now. School leavers face a 14.5% youth unemployment rate. Entry-level jobs normally filled by young people are no longer available. PCYC NSW recognises the vulnerability of our youth, and that some need extra support. Together with NSW Police Force we are working hard to provide programs that make a real, practical difference. Kirsty was having some troubles in her life before she was referred to PCY...C NSW's Fit For Work program. She saw the program as a fresh start, a chance to re-set and imagine a different future. Now Kirsty is a valued member of staff at Bunnings Warehouse Australia and is focused on saving for a car. PCYC Tamworth is offering the SAFER DRIVERS COURSE to Learner Drivers who currently have 50 hours of actual on the road driving experience. 22.01.2022 Club Manager Debby Herdegen and Police Youth Case Manager Senior Constable Andrena Sandison attended Tamworth Blood Donor Centre today to support the Bleed 4 Blue blood drive. ‘Bleed4Blue was created by the NSW Police Force to give back following the stabbing of Detective Sergeant John Breda in February 2018. Detective Sergeant John Breda needed more than 100 bags of blood to save his life, including 48 bags in one six-hour surgery, and is a strong advocate for blood donatio...n.’ We encourage the community to attend the Tamworth Blood Bank and donate blood or plasma if able to do so. 21.01.2022 PCYC Tamworth OOSH are excited to announce the appointment of Allison to the role of Children’s Activities Coordinator. Allison has been an educator with us for several years and we are excited to promote her to this role. Allison oversaw the very successful school holidays in Sept / Oct and officially starts next Monday in this role. We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Tiffany to our OOSH family as permanent Children’s Activities Officer, Tiffany comes with a wealth of experience and has already proven herself to be a wonderful addition to our growing team.
