24.01.2022 And hay season 2020 begins, looking heaps better than last year thankfully!!

24.01.2022 It was a very special end to the day this evening, its going to be a foggy night! Videos to follow.

22.01.2022 Its been a while but got some video this morning of the herd moving paddocks today. Some very happy horses here!

21.01.2022 Time for a drink, all together now!

20.01.2022 Time to have a splash!

20.01.2022 Finally we’ve had rain and green paddocks are now appearing, the horses are enjoying it all!

19.01.2022 And finally.... hay season begins!

19.01.2022 UPDATE: We are now no longer under any fire warning, so sitting having a cuppa keeping an eye on things. Thanks for all the offers of help, we had a good practice of our fire plan. Horses are fine happily munching in their paddocks. Phew that was intense! We are currently now in Emergrncy Warning for the fire. No time to move horses. We are hooking up fire fighting unit and doing all we can. Please pray for a wind change and for fire to be brought under control.

18.01.2022 They’ve been picked up. SOLD FREE Whole Lupins and Barley excess to needs, Horse has moved on. Located here at Peaceful Meadows for anyone who wants to come and pick them up!

18.01.2022 We are in unprecedented times, affecting us all but the horses here at Peaceful Meadows are totally unaware. Their lives are carrying on pretty much as normal, with only maybe fewer visits from their owners, keeping themselves fit and well just being horses doing what they do. Oh to be as carefree at this time as our equine friends are enjoying! Its also been a tough 7-8 months season wise with so little rain and our paddocks are suffering but our horses are enjoying regular hay rolls and are happy and healthy. We all look forward to a time when the season changes and the new pasture comes, the mist will lift, the freshness of it all will invigorate and renew! Hang in there everyone, it will all be worth it!

18.01.2022 Can’t resist stopping just to watch them play in the rain. Such happy kids.

18.01.2022 Time to move paddocks again today but no opportunity for a video as the herd just took a few steps in and then it was heads down!!

17.01.2022 Horses in the mist...

17.01.2022 Are you looking for a horse that wants to be caught and spend time with you being loved, then Sheldon might be the one? Sheldon (Swept Away) is a 6 year old roan bay TB gelding. He trialled twice and came last in a field of 12 each time. He is no race horse thats for sure. He was dumped on me and Ive spent a year getting him sorted and looking healthy. He is very green and will suit experienced horse person who can take him further in his education. He is quiet to handle,f...irst up to you in the paddock, so easy to catch and have feet done. Loves people and just wants to be loved. I have done some float training with him and he is coming along nicely. He is about 16hh. He is a really nice horse. Photo is of him recently, he is in paddock condition living on pasture and hay. Please feel free to come and have a look. I am planning to send him to a trainer for a week for some further education early April. Price will be negotiated for the right home. Please PM for any further details. See more

17.01.2022 Well my friends and I just did it and got out on the trails today despite the cold wet weather and what a treat it was. We loaded up the horses in a rain break, saddled up after a downpour and then the sun came out as we headed out. It rained again for some of the ride but only lightly and then the sun and blue skies greeted us. The forest looked amazing, sparkling clean with vibrant colours! So glad we made ourselves get out there!

16.01.2022 A new paddock for Christmas!

15.01.2022 Water playground fun!!

15.01.2022 Sunrise over Peaceful Meadows this morning

15.01.2022 Another beautiful winters day here in Serpentine and the horses were ready for a fresh paddock, waiting at the gate as if they had read my mind! (Please excuse me yelling at the dogs, I was on my own trying to open gates, close gates, video and control the dogs who want to have as much fun as the horses.)

15.01.2022 Getting a new hay roll is just so exciting! So thinks Jack my 19yr old Standard Bred with Velcro my heart horse joining in, woohoo. Sheldon (roan bay getting in the way) the 6yr old TB is definitely not scared of the tractor either! This quiet friendly boy is looking for a home if anyone is looking for their heart horse. Just wants to be loved!

14.01.2022 That new paddock feeling again, it’s so good it’s worth kicking your heels up for, literally. Love seeing these happy horses enjoying themselves!

14.01.2022 Christmas is about sharing gifts and God shared his most precious gift with us, his Son! These two knew what its all about this morning! Merry Christmas everyone from all of us here at Peaceful Meadows!!

14.01.2022 Peaceful Meadows small bachelor herd, thanks Jenn for the video!

13.01.2022 The small herd were less excited but still happy to be in a new paddock. ( Sorry again for the calling of the dogs)

12.01.2022 Our horse arena became a boxing ring this evening... quite a show by a mob of young bucks! Apologies for the poorer quality video, had to zoom in as couldnt get too close.

12.01.2022 This is a very interesting article and possibly explains why the horses here at Peaceful Meadows, kept as naturally as possible with pasture and hay, are all looking so healthy, even through this difficult summer with no rain. I have always advocated keeping things basic and simple!

09.01.2022 Happy horses with their hay!!!! Yes, here at Peaceful Meadows we supplement the pasture when required with our own home grown hay.

09.01.2022 This is a good read! Im not a big fan of offering treats for training, especially all the time. Just like all training rewards including release of pressure, its all about timing and feel and if done incorrectly can cause problems!

08.01.2022 A couple of old friends enjoying some mutually beneficial quality time!!! Sunnie and Boo!

08.01.2022 Moving the herd to a new paddock is always an enjoyable experience, different every time. Today was no exception with Jenn getting some great video and photo, thank you!!

07.01.2022 This is a great read! I love being able to provide the horses here a much more healthy way to live, pasture or hay to feed on all day! As this article basically says, horses are not humans, we need to remember this in all areas of our care and training.

06.01.2022 So another afternoon of just a little too much excitement, a bush fire only a couple of kms away. Even the horses were a little intrigued by all the action today. We were on Watch and Act warning and prepared for our fire plan. All afternoon we watched water bombers fly over and near us, including the big jet bomber. It was an amazing sight to see and praise goes to all our fire fighters in the air and down on the land. This small video doesnt do them all justice. Thank you to all our fire fighting personnel!!

06.01.2022 Another video of happy, healthy horses who know my voice and come when I call, especially when theres a new paddock at the end of the race! Please take the time to watch to the end, as its worth waiting for the last minute or so. Enjoy!!

06.01.2022 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone at Peaceful Meadows! We hope you had a wonderful time celebrating yesterday! Today we thought we would give the horses in the big herd a Christmas present by moving them to the hay paddock today! Hopefully I will get some video to post up. The small herd will also get a hay roll to enjoy! Best wishes to everyone!

05.01.2022 Planting Jarrah trees again this year and its been rewarding to see some of the successes of our efforts 2 years ago!

05.01.2022 We have just conducted our half yearly faecal egg count collection here at Peaceful Meadows, awaiting results and this article confirms and supports the strategy we are using here for worm control and prevention. Regular worming every 6-8 weeks of all horses is not a good strategy any more and has now been proven scientifically to not be a beneficial option. https://horsesandpeople.com.au/53066-2/

01.01.2022 This is exactly what I try and teach people here at Peaceful Meadows Trail Ride Training Centre! The goal is for horse and rider to relax and enjoy the ride but for both to have the skills/tool box to deal with the random and unexpected! Happy horse, happy human, happy trails!
