25.01.2022 My Degrees which apparently makes me an expert on things. Bachelor + Masters Degrees in Advertising. One from @macquarieuni and one from UTS in Sydney. Preferred the Masters degree 100 times over. I also have. Bunch of certificates and over 9 years practical experience working in marketing agencies, including my own. ... I’m also a long time subscriber to the joyous realm of anxiety/minor depression and can’t shake the desire to want to better understand the human mind; so I’ve filled up on almost all the essential psychology theories, still making my way through podcasts from our worlds more progressive neuroscientists and am currently gaining certification in Mindfulness Therapy. Also, I did 1 year of law at uni but jumped ship before my mother could finish crying over the fact we weren’t going to have a lawyer in the family See more

22.01.2022 Sums up 2018 for me. I was so busy being busy that I failed to prioritise and smash my goals. 2019 is my year; I can feel it! But the first 2 months are just practice for when 2019 actually starts on the 1st March Riiigghhttt?

22.01.2022 My baby boy; Forrest. Light of my life and my constant source of inspiration. Yes he can be trying. Yes we’ve only just managed to get him to fall asleep on his own. And yes he drives me nuts when he refuses to eat dinner. But I made him myself. And rather perfectly, I must say. I see my job now, as his mother, not only to show him how to eat, talk, walk and be kind etc; but to instil in him the tools of emotional intelligence. So that as he grows and is f...aced with big emotions, he understands that they’re ok. They’re just fleeting moments. For a long time I thought my negative thoughts and anxiety attacks defined me. That they defined my life. But I learnt to acknowledge them, be curious about them, then let them go. Because they are only thoughts. Thoughts that I can actually control. Some thoughts and feelings are harder than others to manage, but with practice and sheer perseverance we can improve everyday. So, to my son, I promise to teach you not just what you should know, but what you must know to live a positive, enlightened life See more

20.01.2022 Hands up who transformed when they became a mother? What about a business owner? What about because they felt like it? We are only who we decide to be, so if you’re not in love with the current version of you, you have the power to make the change. Saying that. I’m working towards self-acceptance of my whole self. The flaws and the good stuff. There’s always room to make a positive change but we need to be mindful we are not waiting for tomorrow to be happy.

20.01.2022 One of the steps of self-acceptance is to understand where your sources of criticism come from, and then forgive those who have instilled this frame of thought. Often, people who teach us to think a certain way do so out of love and care, unknowing the damage and self doubt it can cause later in life. So, forgive. Resentment will be hurting you the most.

18.01.2022 Not one of my better mornings. Friday mornings are usually reserved for bike riding with my son and hanging out by the beach and at the playground. But this morning I made the careless mistake of logging onto my emails as soon as I woke up. This meant I was already in work mode before 6:30 am and promising things to be done during a time where I should have been present with my child.... What results is a husband who went off to work feeling neglected, my just cleaned house is now covered in coffee beans, spelt flour, and a whole array of toys. Whilst my mental state is still positive because I have been doing a lot of meditating lately, it’s not ideal that I have just popped my son in front of the TV so I could get projects done that have no reason why they can’t wait until Monday. Take a look at my recent story for a little look at exactly the state that I and the house are currently in, and the only one I can blame for that is myself for not sticking to my boundaries. From now on, no email checking on a Friday morning and no saying yes to projects on a whim. See more

13.01.2022 BLACKS BEACH, MACKAY Whilst originally from Sydney, this is my home spot these days. We live right next to the beach and a beautiful reserve. It was a conscious choice to live closer to the natural beauty of this region (our old house overlooked a pub). And whilst the drive into town is a little longer, it means more people stay away and we can have the beach to ourselves and the dog, most days.... via @mackay_living See more

11.01.2022 Choose to follow the sun Feel it’s warmth, be wary of its burn and know when it’s time to go down and rest.

06.01.2022 Semi-website is now live - go and check it out my friends. Let’s see what this new adventure is all about! https://www.peachcut.com.au Hint: it all started with cutting my hair off yesterday afternoon

06.01.2022 WRITE IT DOWN Your to do lists. Your goals. Your dreams.... Your fears. What makes you happy. The bad habits you’re trying to break. The wins. The lessons. The people and things and experiences you’re grateful for. Your bucket list. Things you want your (future) children to know. Love letters. Your best memories. EVERYTHING. Seeing things written down will either clear your mind, or give you accountability. Handwriting eases stress, and allowing your mind to empty onto paper lightens the mental load. See more

06.01.2022 We all come with our traumas. Big or small. Whether we know it or not. Before age 8 we are the most impressionable and often events that occur during this time will form the lens from which we view the world. It will explain why you had that irrational meltdown when your friend cancelled on your plans. Why you take it so, so personally when a customer leaves bad feedback, or why you often find yourself feeling like a failure unless you’re always busy.... When life is going by at the speed of light, it’s easy to ignore these episodes. Just to write them off as that’s just how I feel when I’m stressed. Yet, I challenge you to introduce more times of still into your life. Through meditation, grounding, or simply lying on the floor staring up at the ceiling (put the kids in front of the tv for just a few mins if you have to). What emotions do you feel? Is it impossible for you to stop? Do you get agitated and feel like it’s a waste of time? We all need a chance to heal and this healing is never linear. We rock backwards and forwards and have good days and bad. But what matters is our persistence and our dedication to our cause. From my own experience, I feel that some weeks I make huge steps forwards (this is one of those weeks), yet just on Monday I was feeling low, flat and hopeless. These low times usually are what propel me forwards to make a change and to make my situation better. If you’re a business owner, mama, and all round wonder woman feeling like there must be another way to do all of this; there is. Our Facebook group will be launching today and open to all mamas willing to be apart of a community which openly explores practical mental wellness techniques, and use our understanding of ourselves to create brands which speak to our tribes.
