25.01.2022 Do you remember that old motorbike your Grandpa owned? You know, the one which you inherited when he passed? The one which is currently buried under a pile of tarps at the back of the shed because it wouldn’t start? Well there’s never been a better time to drag it out of the shed and fix it up. Old motorcycles are increasing in value at unbelievable rates. ... The old English/Italian marques have always been appreciating classics, but now the older Japanese bike market is expanding and values are soaring At Peak Engineering we can blast and etch prime/undercoat all the delicate bits and we can also repair/reweld all the bits which were never done right at the factory. Let’s be honest here, it might have been Rule Brittania, but if you expect your old BSA frame to be beautifully welded from new you’re being a fool to yourself and a burden to others. Bring it to us and we can hand it back to you at whatever level of finish you specifiy. See more

24.01.2022 And here is the second video. As you can see, the manure doesn’t stand a chance.

24.01.2022 There is a vast array of useful things, (big, small and everything in between), which we fabricate here at Peak Engineering. An example of the in between things we make is this ute tray, which we custom fabricated, blasted and painted. The fab included mounting customer supplied toolboxes and conferring with the customer on an aesthetically pleasing colour choice for the tray. Thinking of giving your ute a birthday present? Drop in and see us at Peak Engineering and we’ll fi...t out your ute in a nice shiny new tray, built to suit your individual requirements. Make sure the line starts behind you, and not in front of you. See more

23.01.2022 For reasons known only to Facebook we couldn’t post a series of photos AND videos. So here is the first of two videos of our manure spreader.

22.01.2022 Here’s a three axle steerable plant trailer which we recently completed for a customer. We built it from scratch to meet their exact requirements, and we can build a trailer for you to meet your specific needs. Spring suspension? Airbag suspension? Pintle hook hitch? Ringfeder? Flying saucer? Steerable or not?... You tell us what you need and we’ll build it. Give us a call, or email us for a quote. See more

21.01.2022 At Peak Engineering we can media blast pretty much anything you want. From something as big as a hooklift trailer, to as small as a motorcycle frame, and everything in between, we can remove the existing paint, prepare the surface and spray it in your choice of coatings. From basic primer all the way through to fully finished in the colours of your choice, we can do it all. Here are some examples of some of the mediablasting we’ve done recently. In the pics are a hooklift t...railer, which we’d refurbished and then fully painted before it being picked up by the customer. Also shown is a petrol powered buggy frame which we’ve blasted preparatory to repairing it. Apart from metal repair and paint we’re also replacing bearings and refurbishing the running gear. After repairs it will be etch primed and returned to the customer. We’ve also recently done some small jobs like these tractor mudguards, both of which were blasted and coated in etch primer and returned to the customer for them to finish. See more

20.01.2022 Need some bespoke farm machinery? Got an idea for an unusual piece of equipment? Here’s a fertilizer spreader which we recently fabricated for one of the local primary producers. It has fully adjustable fertilizer delivery tubes, allowing you to space your fertiliser delivery to suit your particular delivery needs. It also has hydraulically operated articulated outriggers, allowing maximum coverage in minimum time while still being perfectly legal (when stowed) for transport on public roads (for that short paddock to paddock journey) as well as fitting inside a covered truck for transporting to fields further afield, without having to dismount it from the tractor. Folded up, it also decreases the storage footprint in your shed.

19.01.2022 In an earlier post, where we showcased our media blasting capabilities, we posted several pics of a hooklift trailer. This is one of its siblings, at the other end of its journey through the shop. Due to the adverse conditions in which it operates, these hooklift trailers require maintenance. The hook is a focal point of wear and tear (as you’d expect), but it’s not the only area that requires our expertise. Apart from maintenance and replacement of wear and tear items, there have been several upgrades of the hydraulics/pneumatics/electrics, bringing this trailer up to the same spec as the more current incarnations of this design, as used by our customer. Now it’s refurbished, repainted and ready to go, making way for another from the same stable.

18.01.2022 It’s amazing what you find if you stick your hand down the back of the couch looking for the chip you just dropped. No chip this time, but some pics and videos of a project we completed for one our local primary producers. Here, in all its glory, is a fully stainless steel bodied fertilizer spreader, a bespoke design conceived and built in-house at Peak Engineering. All we had to start with were two conveyors, a truck, and some good ideas. The end result worked as planned and... the customer is happily flinging manure all over his paddocks. Twin independently controlled conveyors and flinger disks, means that the fertilizer goes where it’s supposed to and no further. Full stainless steel construction means that the spreader body will certain outlive the truck that’s piggy backing it about the place, and should still be operating, trouble free, well into the second half of the century. We can build one for you if you’re sick of tripping over that big mound of manure you don’t know what to do with. Give us a call. See more

16.01.2022 Here's one of a pair of water trucks which we recently built for a local council. This pair also include a water cannon each, front spray heads below the front bumper and rear spray heads at multiple levels. The water cannon control joystick and the in-cabin control box are mounted on custom built brackets designed specifically for the truck model in question. This particular setup includes an electronic water level gauge mounted on the control box, so the operator is aware of any water level issues before they happen, allowing them to more easily plan the days activities for the most efficient use of time and machinery.

16.01.2022 Here at Peak Engineering we not only fabricate new, bespoke, vehicles, we also do repairs. Here’s a few pictures of a garbage truck which suffered a mishap with its compactor lid. Speculation is that they accidentally tried to compact Trevor Gillmeister. It’s the only way we can envisage this level of damage. The lid was supplied by the original body manufacturer from interstate and we fitted the lid, made sure it operated correctly and then prepped it for paint. By the time it’s finished it’ll look like brand new.

15.01.2022 One of our local primary producers came to us with a very specific requirement. They needed a 10,000 litre watertank on a stand, inside a shed/coldroom. It had to have enough room underneath it for the storage of pallets while being unphased by a constantly damp environment. Designing a stand that was physically strong enough was a fairly simple task, but making it fit for purpose when factoring in the addition of the wet environment made it slightly trickier. In the end we d...esigned a tank stand which was demountable, so that it could be hot dip galvanised, and then required minimal effort to reassembly. After all, it’s no good if it required the use of several cranes to be able to safely assemble/install. We then consulted on the design with a local engineering firm, who gave us two thumbs up. The end result is both functional and unobtrusive. It’s there, but it doesn’t dominate the room. Don’t forget that at Peak Engineering, unless you’re building a nuclear reactor or the next space shuttle, we can build it for you. See more
