10.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, I hope this message finds you well. I just wanted to email all of our families regarding assessment and how you can support your child/ren whilst they are learning remotely. 08.01.2022 Our amazing PPS Student Leaders have been working hard during Remote Learning to create some fun and engaging activities and challenges for you to do at home with your families. Please jump on board and support the students and their wonderful ideas. Each week there will be something different. This week is crafty but keep a look out for some sporty challenges and many more!

08.01.2022 Dear Parents I am not sure about you, but the Premiers announcements on Sunday and Monday have really stunned me. We had heard so many rumours about what Stage 4 might look like but I never expected a State of Disaster to be declared with curfews etc. Having said that. I am fully supportive of all measures undertaken as it is in the best interests of us all we get one chance to get this right.as the Premier said.there is no Stage 5!... I urge our community to completely follow all of the guidelines and when these 6 weeks are over we can return to a more normal life. To me, it is worth the pain! I am so sad that many families within our community have lost jobs ( hopefully temporarily) I am also sad we have lost so much of our usual way of life.something until now we never really appreciated! We desperately want our children to return to school.but more importantly we need our State to overcome this further outbreak. Please trust us that we will continue to support you all with the remote learning. We are now running many live teaching sessions per week and this will continue to evolve- if you have not logged your children in, please do so you will be amazed at the positive impact this will have both for your children but also for your family. Onsite supervision is still available to our essential workers and an APPLICATION FORM is available on Compass. Supervision can only be offered to children who are in the three categories listed by DET on Sunday. Vulnerable children are children who are at risk in terms of safety. If you meet these categories as listed in my message on Sunday night, please fill in the application form. It is very clear from the Government - if you are at home - working/studying/etc - your child is to remain at home. They do not want children and parents travelling around. They also want schools to minimise the number of staff travelling to and from school. We will have a skeleton staff working onsite to adequately provide supervision. To this end, application forms will only be accepted until 3pm Thursday NO FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED BEYOND THIS TIME! This new form must be completed in full. There is now a requirement to provide proof of employment/rosters when you submit your attendance form. Please do the right thing by the Pearcedale Community and accept the challenges presented, follow all of the rules in full and we can get through this!! Stay safe stay connected and stay at home! Simon

07.01.2022 At Pearcedale Primary School this week we have been celebrating Hearing Awareness Week. The students have been learning about all the different parts of the ear, devices that can assist you to hear and animals that receive vibrations and sounds differently.

07.01.2022 Dear Parents, I have received a number of questions about this weeks bookings for student On-site supervision. In light of all of the changes since the State of Disaster was declared and the rolling closure of businesses, your requirements may now have changed.... If you now no longer qualify for your child to attend this week, please contact the office staff via email, [email protected] or phone 5978 6250 to cancel your booking. Otherwise bookings will remain in place for this week only A letter outlining the application for Onsite Supervision going forward as of Monday 10th August, will be sent out shortly. Applications already received for next week will now be required to be resubmitted with the new Onsite Attendance form, when available. Simon

01.01.2022 A MESSAGE FROM OUR SCHOOL COUNCIL To the parents/guardians and students of the Pearcedale Primary School Community, 2020 has been an incredibly hard year so far for everyone, not just in our small community. What keeps us together is the fact that we have strong leaders within our School that provide our students with the tools they need for success.... Today in National Principal Appreciation Day. Simon Anderson, along with Heidi McDonough and Jeff Mead have been at the forefront of all the information the Department has thrown their way this year and for this we say a HUGE sincere thank you. As a community, we are continually impressed with your ability to keep our School together, whether it through updates on the social media platforms or simply being available for a phone call or face to face conversation. Your tireless work behind the scenes ensures that both the learning of the students and the staff remains high and consistent to form the next leaders of our community. The passion that you show for the School and its growth can be seen outside the area in the way it is presented and the results we get, and again we say THANK YOU. Ben Wilkinson On behalf of School Council
