24.01.2022 Australia COVID-19 update page created Due to the fact that there are eight different states in Australia each with different restrictions, we thought we would make it easier for everyone to check before travelling to dive. As you may have heard Victoria entered stage 4 restrictions for a scheduled six weeks, so this will affect all travel inside Australia.... 04.01.2022 265 Chinese fishing boats in one small corridor between marine fishing excursion zones. One the Galapagos marine reserve. The article has a satellite map with white markings. You have to look twice as those white markers are actually fishing vessels. They're so clumped together you think it can't be right... No marine animal travelling through there would survive...... Then it seems the vessels are dumping waste overboard as hundreds of plastic bottles with Chinses markings are arriving on the shores to the Galapagos Islands. How can stop this pillaging? 265 boats fishing in one area... Yes they will argue its international waters but this isn't fishing anymore, nothing will be left. Its also not for local consumption, so this decimation will have a drastic effect on the surrounding countries for their food source & associated incomes reliant on marine species, like tourism to the Galapagos Islands.
