23.01.2022 Now we are welcoming guests daily again, there’s lots of ‘detail’ to keep up to date with. Many people ask how time consuming this task is. I look at it as my ‘quiet’ time. Guests love the result. #waxsealstamp #welcomeletter

22.01.2022 Love this time of year. Every time we open the front door we are greeted with this magnificent colour #rhododendron #rhododendrons

19.01.2022 Recently a generous local brought his drone up so we could capture the source and cause of water damage from a chimney. Here are a couple of his amazing Penghana shots #aerialphotography

18.01.2022 If you are looking for a magic view, a little luxury, space and privacy, you can’t go past Penghana’s Owen Suite complete with dressing room, fluffy bath robes, leaf tea, prize winning plunger coffee and more.... overlooking Queenstown’s township. Included in your tariff is a silver service style breakfast served in our formal dining room. A great choice if you are wanting something just a little special.

18.01.2022 Why is Penghana’s Owen Room so popular? It could be the space, or the decor? The view certainly is something to remember no matter what the weather is doing. Photos don’t do it justice and some surprise element is needed when you stay. #bedandbreakfasts

18.01.2022 Queenstown’s art scene was well and truly happening today. #streetscene #Queenstowntasma

17.01.2022 Sunday night dinner for friends

17.01.2022 What you will experience staying at Penghana Bed & Breakfast

17.01.2022 Our first bikers post COVID. At Penghana we can offer you undercover parking for your 2 wheel passion. #harleydavidson #softtail

15.01.2022 WOW, ARE WE CHUFFED ABOUT THIS OR NOT???? Last week we were advised by TripAdvisor that Penghana Bed & Breakfast has been awarded their People’s Choice Award 2020. Why are we so thrilled? This recognition by TripAdvisor means Penghana Bed & Breakfast is in their top 10% of hotels worldwide! This was not possible without our guests taking the time to review their stay with us. Nor was it possible without the commitment from our staff, the recommendations that our guests... have made to friends, family and/or colleagues and our ongoing efforts to present Penghana as one of Tasmanian’s iconic experiences.#travellerschoice #chuffed #chuffedtobits #penghanabandb #bookdirectandsave #guestsloveus #bandb #bestbandb #bedandbreakfast #penghanalife #destinationwestcoast #beautifultasmania #experiencetasmania #dwctas #discovertasmania #tasmanianescapes #traveltasmania #visittasmania #tasmaniagram #tripadvisor See more

15.01.2022 There were many amazing surprises wandering around Queenstown’s street scene art weekend. In this back yard gallery and garden we found a true artisan at work. These Huon pine spoons are amazing #huonpine #huonpinespoons #streetscene #queenstowntasmania

14.01.2022 The many faces of Mt Owen from Penghana’s front room

13.01.2022 At Penghana you have choices. If an upstairs room with breakfast isn’t your thing, we have a ground floor, self catering, 2 bedroom apartment. It’s fitted out with all the little Penghana ‘standard’ extras, as well as much more than ‘the basics’ in the kitchen. Whether you’re coming to the west coast for work or play a great place to base yourself.

13.01.2022 I’ve just spent a great 36 hrs at this amazing location - Ratho Farm at Bothwell with a group of B&B owners brainstorming a concept for our niche like minded business owners.... so watch this space #tassiesbestbed&breakfasts

12.01.2022 Our first guests on their bike..... for a very long time. At Penghana we can offer you under cover parking for your 2 wheel passion #harleysofttail #harleydavidson

12.01.2022 Photo don’t do the occasion justice. Spent 2 hrs on RACT’s boat at a ‘Josef Chromy’ twilight cruise on Macquarie Harbour yesterday. What magic weather we had, sampled some great wines, met the winemaker and indulged on superb food. My favourite was the local oysters with cucumber pickled ginger and soy. #westcoasttasmania

12.01.2022 Continental breakfast at Penghana featuring homemade Bircher style muesli and fruit compote. #birchermuesli

09.01.2022 When guests book our ‘twin room’ at Penghana, you don’t get king single beds, it’s just like home, you have the comfort of queen beds, as well as all the little things we add to make your stay special. #travellingfriends

09.01.2022 Travelling to Tasmania’s Wild West is an adventure, but there is no need to give up any comfort. Stay at Penghana and let us pamper you while you explore this incredible part of Tasmania.

09.01.2022 Just a snapshot of today’s cold selections at Penghana’s breakfast table #breakfastideas

08.01.2022 We’ve just installed a story board to accompany Marion Sticht’s portrait and tell the story of the rediscovery of her charm necklace. Penghana has so much history.

07.01.2022 This week Penghana was gifted this book. It was owned by Robert Sticht and acquired in 1890 (as the ink tells us). It made its way into the Robert Sticht Library here in Queenstown but was discarded prior to 1971. Chief Metallurgist, Alexander John Sutherland who worked for the Mt Lyell Mining and Railway Company between 1954-1971, and also a Board Member of the Library, laid claim to it when it was discarded by the Library. His family had it restored rather than see it destroyed. Sutherland’s daughter, Josephine, who has been its keeper for several years wanted it to come back to its original home at Penghana. As it is written in German and probably ‘old German’, it can be admired but not read easily. #robertstichtlibrary#rarebooks #1890book

01.01.2022 Prunes in green tea and honey with a little vanilla bean yogurt have become a ‘regular’ at Penghana’s Breakfast table. #prunes #breakfastideas
