23.01.2022 Back to Work - At Last! Following the Premiers announcement on Monday we are now in a position to reopen the flying school and recommence full operations as of this Saturday 31st Oct. Members are reminded they must comply with all COVID restrictions and ensure you satisfy the requirements in terms of travel and any other restrictions that still apply. ... We need to limit as much traffic as possible through the doors at the Club, as the virus hasn’t gone away. We must protect the staff as much as possible, therefore we ask members to phone ahead if you wish to hire an aircraft or book a flying lesson. There is also a COVID questionnaire we need members to complete before coming to Flight Ops. Book early as there are plenty of people wanting to follow up on lessons...first up best dressed!! Safety is our number one priority and ask that you carefully consider every aspect of your flying before getting into the cockpit and make sure you are fit to fly.

05.01.2022 Yesterday, VCAT issued consent orders for the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council to withdraw from their enforcement action against a company, which was in turn affecting two associated aircraft maintenance businesses at the Tyabb airport. In May 2019 the Shire sent letters to a number of businesses at the airport directing them to close, claiming they were unlawfully operating. These actions by the Shire had placed as many as 100 jobs... in jeopardy. At a VCAT conference last month the Shire had to acknowledge that their enforcement action contained no valid allegations against that company. They have now withdrawn from this particular action, albeit after incurring significant and unnecessary costs to all, and of course MP ratepayers who inevitably will have to foot the bill. Unfortunately, the action against PAC was not withdrawn and Peninsula Aero Club will still have to defend itself against the proposed enforcement order, which according to PAC President Jack Vevers is another waste of ratepayers money as he maintains that the Shire has no evidence to support their claims and is destined for another loss in VCAT by the Shire. Vevers said, The Shire needs to reconsider their approach and start working with PAC to find a peaceful and sustainable pathway and stop wasting ratepayers money over these fruitless legal actions.
