17.01.2022 Cat flu is insidious, is a constant fight for us all in rescue, if a mum cat has cat flu so do ALL her babies, it's highly contagious, it can turn into pneumonia and in a adult cat that can be lethal unless treatment is swift and aggressive, in a little kitten.... It's a death sentence. I currently have a litter of kittens that were dumped at a vet, ages 3 weeks maybe less, malnourished and full of cat flu. The vet bill will be high, the nights and days long for us but we jus...t have to try. Can we stop this? YES!!! you can stop it, DESEX YOU PET! kittens are cute ABSOLUTELY! But they grow up, a female KITTEN can and will have a litter from the ages of 4 months and then unless desexed will have another litter every 4 months after that. 08.01.2022 I'm sad I have to post this however it is unfortunate that last couple of months have proven that it is necessary. Calling me at 9 am on a Sunday morning demanding I GIVE you a kitten because you have had a hard year, then being abusive and threatening towards myself and my family when I stated we do not have kittens ready for adoption and to please not speak with me so aggressively WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! This is becoming a frequent occurrence of late and as the head of this... rescue and to be honest as a person that believes I deserve to be treated better has had enough of it. We as a community of hard working and dedicated carers and volunteers give up all our time and resources to the welfare of these beautiful animals, as do other rescues and their volunteers. We are governed by rules, regulations and policy that are in place for the benefit of the kittens and cats in our care NOT for the convenience of you, because you wish to have a cute kitten. We put on the posts of our kittens NOT READY FOR ADOPTION OR TAKING INQUIRIES because THEY ARE NOT READY FOR ADOPTIONS AND WE ARE NOT TAKING INQUIRIES! Most of our kittens arrive in our care sick, hungry and needing medical attention. We pay for all of this, take the time and care to make them healthy and adaptable kittens and cats for their new families this takes TIME. We are about to launch our new website and once this happens and you see a kitten or cat available for adoption you will be able to APPLY for that kitten or cat. This does not mean you will get this kitten or cat it means once you fill in that application form and send it in, you will be CONSIDERED for that kitten or cat. We do not play Favorites or Pick and choose to our liking adoptee's. We are looking for the perfect family for that kitten and it all goes on your circumstances and the kittens or cats needs. If you think intimidation and abuse of myself or my carers and volunteers will get you what you want I would reconsider your actions. 06.01.2022 Can you help? We have mum cats and kittens that are fussy with their food and we have found that they LOVE Felix food. At the moment it's cheap at Coles for a box of 12 sachets it's $9.00 normally $11.50 if you are able to help and purchase a box or two for us it would be greatly appreciated.
