22.01.2022 Thank you all for showing incredible kindness, generosity and understanding as we navigate the myriad of challenges in supporting the national effort to slow do...wn the spread of COVID-19. We’re working together, as fast as we can, and as best we can, to support each other with our teaching and research - and new virtual work and learning practices. The health and safety of the UNSW community comes first. We won’t always get things right the first time, or be able to immediately satisfy every need, so please keep asking us questions and giving us feedback on how we can make work and life as easy as possible given the challenges we’re all going through. This is a very difficult time and while we might be ‘physically distancing’, it’s great to see social media and online tools helping us to remain connected as a strong and resilient community. Check your UNSW email for the full details, but here’s a summary of today’s update: While campus is still open, all classes are now being delivered online only. Staff are encouraged to work from home where practical. We’ve also introduced special leave for staff who need to self-isolate but don’t have enough sick leave or are employed casually. We’re being flexible with leave policies for parents who choose to keep their kids home from school and can’t work from home. Mental health is critical right now. Student Support Advisers are ready to help and online resources are available. For staff, confidential counselling is available through our EAP.
