21.01.2022 Shhh... our Australian Red Garlic is resting in our timber barn. We hang in the traditional way, letting the garlic cure slowly in its own time. The soil still clinging to the bulbs. It dries slowly, naturally, developing a crisp dry skin and complex spicy flavour.

12.01.2022 The veggie garden at Pennyroyal Ridge is full of seasonal abundance and we're loving eating from the garden every day. Luckily garlic goes with everything! Especially zucchinis, eggplant and tomatoes. To give your barbecued veggies a spicy kick, we recommend this simple roasted garlic and yogurt dip from Linda Woodrow at The Witches Kitchen. Give it a go. So yum.

03.01.2022 Anyone know what these are? So delicious. One of the secret pleasures of the garlic farmer. They are garlic scapes, the tall winnowy green stems that shoot up from garlic bulbs in the spring. Each one topped with a cluster of mini garlic bulbils. They taste a little bit garlic and a little bit green herb. We freeze a few and use to make pesto and stir fries through the year. Yum!
