25.01.2022 We played the Final of the Club 4s today. Congratulations go to Di Pittaway Carol Fahey June Kirk and Yvonne Love who defeated Claire Minall Jill MacDonald Helen Fruhstuck and Dulcie Rudman. A well contested game worthy of a final. Well played all

23.01.2022 On Tuesday 10th November we will be playing the Club Major/Minor event. Please put your name down on the sheet in the Ladies room or come along EARLY that morning so the selectors know if you want to be in it. This event is open to all members and don’t let the title put you off. It’s a great day to have a game of Pairs with an anonymous partner. The players with more experience will be partnering those with less experience for the title on the day. Thanks

23.01.2022 Hello Ladies. Carol Fahey has asked me to let you all know that there will be a size kit for our new shirts at the club next Tuesday 15/9. As all who were at our AGM are aware that a vote was taken whether or not to have the new shirts and there was a very big thumbs up for them. A big thank you to the Ladies who formed a special uniform committee and did a fantastic job in presenting us with the shirt that we all loved. So if youre wondering what size to order come in on Tuesday and take advantage of the size kit that will be there. Thanks

22.01.2022 PCWBC had our Christmas break up lunch and Presentation Day yesterday. Congratulations to all recipients of awards and badges. Special congratulations to our bowler of the year , Claire Minall. You played so well in all tournaments Claire and deserve this award. The club person of the year this year was too hard for our President Kathy to choose between 2 Ladies so 2 awards were presented to the most worthy candidates those being Barbara Stonham and Maryann Mitchell. These 2 Ladies give their all to help the club run smoothly. Congratulations to both so deserving Ladies.

22.01.2022 Wishing all our Members and friends a very MERRY CHRISTMAS. May 2021 bring good health and happiness to us all.

22.01.2022 Ladies who are playing their Singles games tomorrow may start at 9am if desired as its going to be a very hot day.

21.01.2022 Please don’t forget that our Club Major/Minor Pairs is on next Tuesday 17th Nov. We would like a few more names for this Comp so if you haven’t got your name down come along on the day and let the Selectors know that you wish to be in it. It’s a fun day and only goes for the one day. Thanks

20.01.2022 In accordance with an email from Bowls NSW as of yesterday all Championship and Pennant games are to be cancelled until further notice because of concerns with the current Corona virus outbreak. Tomorrows (Thursday) mixed mufti has been cancelled at this stage BUT the rinks will be open for anyone who wants to roll up. Ladies Tuesday social will go ahead depending on attendance and that will be left to your own discretion. We know this is not ideal but we need to take into account the health and safety of our Ladies, the majority of these are in the at high risk demographic. Please remember the club is open for business as usual and the rinks will be open for anyone to have roll ups. We will keep you informed of any changes as they happen so until then be sensible, keep safe and good health to you all.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to Dulcie Rudman and Helen Fruhstuck who won against Di Pittaway and June Kirk in a vary close fought game in the Club Major Pairs today. Well played by all.

19.01.2022 Hello Ladies and friends. Hope you all enjoyed being back on the green. I just want to let you know that as of next Tuesday you will be able to access the club from 8.15am. The main gate on Woodriff St. and the side gate onto the green area will be open for you at 8.15 as it was before lockdown. This is to enable the Ladies who do the cards to get a start and for all the bowlers to get their bowls out. This also applies to Thursday Mixed Mufti. Can you all pass this update onto any members that are not on FB that you may know. Thanks

18.01.2022 Penrith Ladies. If anyone of you are interested in entering the District Singles/Pairs/Triplets please ring our Secretary Yvonne Mayo ASAP as forms have to be in on Monday 2nd March. Thanks

18.01.2022 Please note that due to District playoffs being held next Tuesday at Lithgow and our Fab Four being there we will be changing the date of our Major/Minor Pairs to Tuesday 17th Nov. Good luck to Di - June- Dulcie - Yvonne. There will be normal social bowls on 10th. Thanks

17.01.2022 Ladies and Friends, just a reminder that Thursday Mixed Mufti is back this Thursday 2/7 and Ladies Tuesday on 7/7. I just need you all to know the procedure for entering the club in our current situation. The main gate on Woodriff St will open at 8.45am and the club front door will open at 9am. You will only be entering the club through the front door so as to maintain all strict rules regarding sanitising and recording numbers for COVID 19 purposes. As you know for Thursday... Mixed Mufti you should have your name down on the sheet in the club before the day. We ask that you all be patient at this time as the Ladies organising the games will only be entering the club at 9am along with the rest of the players so will need time to arrange the games. We ask that you please obey the social distancing rules while in the club. All this information relates to Tuesday as well. Things may be a little different to what you have all been used to at first but with everyones cooperation we will all be able to get back to enjoying our game of bowls and the social interaction that we all love and appreciate more now than ever before. Thanks See more

16.01.2022 Ladies don’t forget to come along to our Mixed Mufti Melbourne Cup day tomorrow. Wear your best race outfit or hat or just casual gear and enjoy a great morning of social bowls.

16.01.2022 Hello Ladies, just a reminder that there will be no usual social bowls next Tuesday as it’s Melbourne Cup Day BUT we are having a special bowls day conducted along the lines of our Thursday Mixed Mufti. So don’t forget to put your names down on the sheet located on the men’s board for MELBOURNE CUP DAY. There will be sweeps and a runner will go to put bets on for those who want that service. There’s also special prizes for the raffle that day and everyone who bowls gets a ticket for a horse in the race. You can dress up and wear your best race hat or come as you please. The club is offering a free glass of bubbly with every lunch order. So come along and enjoy the day.

13.01.2022 In this horrible Corona cocoon that we find ourselves in can we take time out today to pay respect and say thanks to the Men and Women of our armed forces both past and present for the sacrifices they made for us and ask that we have just a small amount of the courage and resilience they had to make our world a better place. LEST WE FORGET

13.01.2022 To all our beautiful Mothers, Grandmothers and dare I say Great Grandmothers out there HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

12.01.2022 A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our members and friends. Ladies just a reminder that we return to bowls next Tuesday 12th Jan. For all those playing in our Club 4’s please think about arranging to play your games. If you can play on Tuesday 12th JUST LET A MEMBER OF MATCH KNOW AND WE’LL MAKE THE NECESSARY ARRANGEMENTS . We need to get our comps started asap as we have the draw for Major Singles on 19th and there’s a lot of District games happening early in the calendar. THANKS

12.01.2022 Penrith Ladies dont forget our AGM on Tuesday 1/9 at 9.30am. As there will be a Quarterly as well President Sandra has decided that there will be no games on that day. Just a reminder that you need to be a current financial member to attend. Thanks

11.01.2022 Congratulations to the winners of todays Major Singles games Claire Minall And Di Pittaway 2 great games by all ladies involved

10.01.2022 Hello Ladies and friends. Hope youre all well and in high spirits. Its been a long few weeks but hopefully with everyone doing the right thing we may see some lifting of restrictions for some of us. Maybe not so soon for us older and vulnerable members but as long as were all in good health at the end of this it will be worthwhile. Unfortunately we have a few Ladies who havent been well and to maintain their privacy I will not give names but Im sure they read this and will know who Im referring too so on behalf of President Sandra and all your friends at PCWBC we wish you a speedy recovery and know that our thoughts are with you. We look forward to the day when we will all be back together having a cuppa and and a game together until then keep safe be careful and keep smiling.

10.01.2022 As no doubt you will already know from all the news bulletins our beloved Penrith Bowling Club has ceased operations as of today. We dont know how long this closure will last but trust that when we are able to open again you will all come back to make our club the same friendly social place it has been to us all. Keep safe and most importantly be sensible. Thanks

09.01.2022 Below is a copy of the Major Singles draw that took place yesterday.

08.01.2022 Yesterday (Tuesday) saw the final of the Club Major Pairs played. Congratulations to Dulcie Rudman and Helen Fruhstuck who defeated Claire Minall and Jill MacDonald. Well played to all Ladies.

08.01.2022 Well its hard to realise Easter is here so wed like to wish all our members and friends a VERY HAPPY EASTER. Its certainly going to be a very different Easter for all of us but one we have to deal with to ensure we get to celebrate lots more Easters and all other special occasions with our families in the future. So keep doing all the right things. Keep safe. Keep well. Keep occupied. Keep smiling.

08.01.2022 Ladies please note that our selectors have to let District know on 25th Nov how many teams we will be entering in the Pennants next year. So if you haven’t already done so can you please put your name on the list which is on the board in the Ladies room ASAP. We need as many as possible so that our club has a good representation in the Pennant Competition which usually only goes over 3 or 4 weeks so have a good think about it and either put your name down or ring a selector to let them know. Thanks

08.01.2022 Ladies don’t forget that we are having our 1st Quarterly meeting tomorrow Tuesday 19/1 and also drawing for the Major Singles.

07.01.2022 Hello Ladies hope youre all well and ready to resume bowling as no doubt you would have heard or read that games will recommence as of 1st July. We have received this confirmation from WBNSW but have not been given any specific guidelines as yet as to how we will conduct these games. President Sandra and our Secretary Yvonne are making enquires and hopefully we will have definite information in the next few days so oil up those knees and arms as when we do get to resume we w...ill hit the ground running ( as much as were allowed of course) as we have to have the final of our club 4s and semi final and final of the Major Singles. Our calendar of course will have to be amended and Im hoping to have the Major Pairs as our next Championship game so will be calling for entries for this ASAP. In the meantime roll ups are still happening so call Steve Martin for an appointment (0435942570). The registered club is up and running adhering to sanitizing and social distancing measures of course and for all the Bingo enthusiasts Bingo will recommence this Friday morning at 9.45 and Friday and Sunday night raffles are back. Friday tickets start selling at 5pm with the draw at 7pm and Sunday tickets sell from 5pm with draw at 6pm. So exciting news for us all and as soon as I am able I will update you with exact dates for our resumption. Thanks See more

06.01.2022 The first game in our Club Major Pairs was played on Tuesday 28/7 between Maryann Mitchell/Kathy Loughnan and Carol Morris/Sue Dunlop. Congratulations to Carol and Sue on their win. 06.01.2022 Sorry to be a little late but congratulations to those who played their games in the Major Singles last week. The winners of those 3 games were: D. Rudman C. Fahey... J. Kirk Well done to all who participated. I have posted a copy of the draw update and ask if those that have games still to play to try and get their next round played before the start of Pennants please. Remember that you can play any day of the week not just on Tuesdays. Thanks

04.01.2022 Congratulations to Claire Minall winner of our Club Major Singles played today. Well done Carol Fahey you certainly both deserved to be in that game today.

04.01.2022 Ladies please get your entries in for next years Club 4’s. entries close next Tuesday at 1pm when the draw will take place. 1st round to be played in January when we get back. Please give a thought to mixing up your team to have a few of our best players with some that haven’t had as much experience even if you’ve filled out your entry it can be changed next Tuesday. This is just to experiment with a system we’re thinking of introducing next year for our in-house 4’s and Triples which will entail a points system when putting your teams together to give the members who don’t usually have a chance of winning to play with the most experienced players and get some experience and maybe even a win which they may think they can’t achieve. Thanks

04.01.2022 Well Ladies our final week of bowls for this year has come and what a tumultuous year it has been. So let’s all celebrate next Tuesday and have a great fun day with our Christmas break up lunch and Presentations. Don’t forget to wear your Chrissy shirt and hat and bring a present for Kris Kringle to the value of $10-15. If you’ve forgotten to put your name down please ring Yvonne or Kathy to let them know you’re coming. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all.

04.01.2022 Ladies please note that as the registered club is back in operation, although in restricted measures, new roll up session times have been put into place as set out below by the Mens bowls organiser, Steve Martin, in conjunction with the club CEO Julie Cullen. Please ring Steve to book in for roll ups. Thanks Steve and Julie. As stated in the last post we are gradually moving forward with new measures coming into play each week. Hopefully all will be back to normal in the near... future. With the club re-opening from 9am each day starting 1/6/20 we have increased the roll up sessions as well. The sessions are now 9am to 11am, 11am to 1pm and 1pm to 3pm. Bookings are essential for all members regardless of sex and the maximum of 10 bowlers at a time remains. Please contact me on 0435942570 to make a booking. At 5pm each day, any spots unfilled by members for the next day sessions will be opened up to visiting bowlers. Bowlers are to enter through the club and provide details to the staff member at the door. Those participating in the roll up or practice sessions do not count towards the numbers visiting the club. If you remain at the club after your session you will be counted. Cheers Steve Martin

03.01.2022 Thanks to our CEO Julie for doing all she can to make our club a safe place for all members BUT REMEMBER its up to every individual to respect the rules of social distancing and sanitising to keep our club and more importantly ourselves safe. Safety of our Patrons and Staff is our number one priority here at the Bowlo. Thank you to Kris & his team at CFI for the fogging/disinfecting of our premises early this morning with Netbiokem DSAM Commercial Grade Disinfectant. The features & benefits of this product are that it is Aust TGA Approved for Covid 19 claim (ARTG No 336972). It is a ready to use 2 in 1 solution, eliminating the need for pre-clean process & it kills SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus in 2 minutes.

02.01.2022 Hi everyone thought it was a good time to check in and ask if youre all ok? Were certainly going through worrying times so I hope youre all doing the right thing and keeping occupied and most of all keeping well. Who would have thought that when we were all together last that we would end up being in the situation we are now. BUT we all need to get out the jigsaw puzzles, the crosswords and get out into the garden and keep motivated so that when the time comes for us to resume our bowls and our friendships as thats what our club is to all of us, a place of friendship, we will be ready and able to get going again. So keep fit, keep safe and keep well.

02.01.2022 It is with great sadness we advise of the passing of one of the Ladies Patrons and long time member Hazel Green. Hazel was a much cherished lady bowler for many years and Treasurer of the registered club for 17 years as well as on the Board of Directors. Hazels funeral will be held next Tuesday 18th February at Pinegrove cemetery at 11 am. It would be a great show of respect to Hazel if as many of our Ladies as possible could attend in our Penrith uniform. Please pass this information onto other members who may not be on FB. Thanks

01.01.2022 Ok Ladies hope all your painting and gardening chores are under control because weve got starting dates for you . Our first Tuesday back is 7th July and rest assured the club is following very strict social distancing and hygiene rules. At this stage we are restricted to 20 people per green and WBNSW STRONGLY recommend that we have only 4 people per rink so Singles and Pairs only until further notice. Thursday Mixed social will commence on 2nd July. Due to current circumstances our AGM will be deferred to a later date as we have not had enough time to give the appropriate notice. As Ive mentioned in previous posts our calendar will have to be amended but Im waiting further advice as to when and how we can conduct our events.
