24.01.2022 Ive been chatting with hundreds of managers over the last ~5 months and weve explored a lot of ways to lead themselves and their team during these wonky times. Amongst the myriad of topics within topics a common theme thats popped up has been: How do I lead them when I cant see them?... Managing and leading a remote or virtual team, especially when you havent had a remote or virtual team before, can be a tad daunting. Trust is critical and communication is essential. As this is affecting so many I thought the Management Success Book: Managing Remotely & Virtually might be useful. It is one of the twelve workbooks related to the Management Success Cards. All the workbooks will be released later this year. You dont need the cards to work through the book. I wanted to share this one with you, its fresh of the press so be sure to let me know if you find a typo ;-) Type YES PLEASE into the comments and Ill hook you up.

24.01.2022 According to a report by The Taplow Group, communication, decision-making and delegation are three key factors that #leadership coaching can develop. Delegating is an assumed skill; ie, with promotion comes an assumption of leadership capability, including the ability, structure and confidence to delegate. Study after study shows delegating to have a significant ROI yet the investment in skilling #managers and #leaders in the art and science of delegating is amiss. ... I had a record breaking 655 people register for my recent webinar on Delegating. That shows just how much managers and leaders want (need) to build, improve, learn this skill. Ive been answering delegation questions, heres one to check out in the video. Pop your #delegation question in the comments. 24.01.2022 How do I remove the fear of delegating?

24.01.2022 Since mid-March I have been having one-on-one and #team #meetings exploring, discussing and facilitating discussions, planning, learning how to lead and manage uncertainty. In working with managers we explore, through #coaching and #training, skills and strategies for leading themselves and others through crisis, change and uncertainty... aka #COVID-19. I recently created the Management Success Book for Managing Remotely & Virtually and have spent this week writing the Manage...ment Success Book for Managing Uncertainty. Tonight is the RED PEN night ... #covid19leadership #remoteteams #teambuilding #remotemanagement #productiveleadership #peopleskills #managementskills

23.01.2022 Im too busy to delegate. Its just quicker if I do it myself. But they wont do it to my standard.... These are real and valid roadblocks to delegating AND they can be removed! #delegating #workshop #online #virtualpresenter

23.01.2022 No direct reports to delegate to?

21.01.2022 Deciding HOW to provide learning and development experiences for your people can be a bit challenging right now. Ive been delivering online for years but, now more than ever, decision makers need to be confident that facilitators, speakers and trainers they engage are not just experts in their content but also capable of handling the tech to deliver an educational and inspirational experience. . . Today I have received notice that I earned my Certified Virtual Facilitator b...adge. . . "Recipients of this badge need to demonstrate their expertise with online delivery. Please note this badge is only available to Certified Learning Facilitators who have demonstrated exceptional facilitation skills, their ongoing professional development and proven results of the impact of their learning initiatives." . . Thank you Asia Pacific Institute of Learning & Performance . . 21.01.2022 Airports. Remember them? I could rarely walk past an airport bookshop. I love books. Im obsessed with learning. Restrictions are lifting, I hear the call of book stores! Article after article, study after study tell us that reading is a fundamental element of success. Successful leaders read!... My passion for learning and belief that reading is one of the easiest ways to develop personally and professionally is why I created the Book Club for Professional Development While we might read the latest sizzler, its far more about stretching ourselves, discussing, debating, networking and growing. Youre welcome to join us on this journey: https://www.sallyfoleylewis.com/bc-for-pd/ #bookclub #leadersarereaders #productiveleadership #leadershipdevelopment

21.01.2022 Leading Productively Now and Next... Wednesday 15th July 2020 12:00noon AEST ...... https://www.sallyfoleylewis.com/webcasts/ ... Cant make the date? Register for the recording. ... When you watch an athlete prepare to throw a discus, they stand in the back of the circle and swing to build momentum Right now the world and the workplace feels like being the discus: - momentum is building but going nowhere; - preparations are underway to shift into a new way of working; - some people cant wait to get back into the office; and - some people never want to return to the office. Chatting with many managers over the last few weeks what they shared with me is the range of concerns their teams have about when and how they will return to work. The challenge of keeping everyone engaged and maintaining a sense of team while everyone is working remotely. #Pivot #WFH Restrictions Hard Borders #Lockdown All words well be glad to not say or hear once 2020 is done, once COVID-19 is done with 2020! ... Our world is still adapting, while also coping, while also working; and it will never be the same again. Staying the course when the course keeps changing is exhausting. Nonetheless, you need to maintain and sustain your #leadership throughout. You must remain focused while also supporting the organisation to remain #productive. #Managers are asking what they have to do now and how to prepare for next. Managers are sharing their concerns with me: How do I #engage my #remote team? How do I handle resistance for returning to the office and how do I harness the champions of return to work? How do I keep the team motivated for now and ready for what we need to do next? Im so much more exhausted than ever before, how can I get through this and keep my sanity? How do I answer questions when no one has an answer? In this webcast youll learn five steps to handle the now and prepare for the next, with structure not stress. @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

16.01.2022 Oh my giddy Aunt!!!!! What a blast and enormous privilege to be a small part in this essential educator and educational leadership summit. In the last 12 hours Ive chatted with teachers and leaders across the globe and Ive been left nothing short of inspired. I think of my school days and my favourite and, err, less favourite teachers and wonder what might have been if only a summit like this existed back then!!!! @karentuiboyes @spectrumeducation

15.01.2022 Another group of workers who might lose from remote working are middle managers. To the extent that management depends on "presenteeism", that is, physically keeping an eye on workers, remote working presents problems. Intrusive checking on computer activity is likely to be resisted and evaded. Managers will have to learn to manage by objectively assessing results rather than observing what people do, and to get that evidence accepted further up in the hierarchy.... #Micromanaging face time face or online is never a great strategy! https://www.malaysiasun.com//increased-productivity-just-o #management #managementskills #remotemanagement #covid19leadership
