15.01.2022 Is your breathing affected by smoke haze? With the devastation of recent bushfires affecting many parts of Australia, the loss of homes and lives has been an absolute tragedy. 13.01.2022 Attention patients: If you have had any recent travel or contact with the Coronavirus, please advise reception at the time of making an appointment. If booking online, please phone the clinic prior to your appointment if you have any flu-like symptoms.... Here are some tips on avoiding viruses such as the coronavirus: 1. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. If you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too. 2. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. 3. Keep your hands as clean as possible, thorough washing with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitiser. 4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. 5. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is sick. If you have come into contact with someone who might have coronavirus, call and make an appointment today.

10.01.2022 With mixed emotions, we will be farewelling Dr Katie Kemp at the end of June. Dr Katie has written the following letter to staff and patients: ... Dear patients and staff, I write to formally advise you of my intention to retire from providing general practitioner services from the 30th of June 2020. It has been a great pleasure and a privilege to have worked for the last nine years at the James Neil Medical Centre and I know I will miss patients and staff alike. There are many excellent doctors at the practice and I hope that many of the patients that I have done my best to care for will wish to transfer their care to another doctor in the practice. We have both male and female doctors in the practice and I have the highest regard for the medical skills of my colleagues amongst whom I have worked happily over the years. I wish all of you the best possible health and much happiness in the coming years. Thank you all for welcoming me to Toowoomba, sharing so much of your lives with me and enabling me to enjoy my working life so fully. I plan to continue living in Toowoomba and hope very much that our paths will cross in the future albeit on a social rather than professional level. With very best wishes, Dr Katie Kemp. FRACGP
