01.01.2022 Absolutely blown away by Jennys @see.taste.do kind words. So many times we doubt ourselves and ask if we are doing the right thing. Meeting Jenny and reading her kind words, reminds me we are on the right track. But, I cannot take all the credit. A shout out to my business partner @jacob_farragher_ , my amazing Percy family and mentors. These people, and the community I am surrounded with, have honestly created what Percy Plunkett is today and this is something I am so prou...d of. . . #Repost @see.taste.do I met a man today named Phillip Hallani, a man who is passionate and energised about hospitality and in bringing you more than just good food but exceptional dining experiences . and who is about to really plant Penrith on the dining experience map in New South Wales. The energy and positivity is a refreshing change and good to see ambition and innovation mesh in the current times. I went out to @percy_plunkett in Penrith, Western Sydney, after a farm tour with @mdprovodores and friends, and Percy Plunkett is a beautiful eatery in a historical building built in the 1800s in the Sydney colonial times and formerly owned by a person called Percy Plunkett. We indulged on a range of delicious dishes for lunch from their menu today including: Lamb Eggs Benedict. Percys Garden Bowl. Carrot & Sweetcorn Fritters Open Lamb Pita. Deep Dish Pancake to name a few. The food is excellent. The experience was memorable. Like most businesses in the hospitality industry, Phil was also affected by COVID. On the day lockdown was announced, he called his staff and apologised to his staff for there being no work. Spent four days lost thinking of what to do next and then realised that his closure was not his fault and put his staff back on to do takeaway and Percys Pantry was born. There are now grand plans underway for something bigger and suitable for the current times in development down the road think farms, picnics, orchards, and markets.
