The Gold Coast Public Health Unit has urged people to wash their hands ...thoroughly with warm soapy water. Norovirus is one of those nasty bugs that isn't killed off with alcohol based hand sanitisers," Public Health Physician Dr Vicki Slinko said. "You need to wash your hands with warm soapy water for the time it takes to sing two ‘happy birthdays’, "Don't send your children back to childcare until 48 hours after their symptoms have settled."

16.01.2022 Today was our Ekka celebration. We enjoyed lots of fun games, a yummy Ekka style lunch and the iconic strawberry ice cream which we loved. Then we had a visit from the Old MacDonald farm animals, what a great way to finish off our day of fun. Thank you to our educators for all of your planning and hard work. It was a big day but well worth the effort to see all of the smiles on the faces of our children.

15.01.2022 After many parent teacher interviews over the last month the resounding question has been When will my child be able to write properly? or Why isnt my child writing yet? The answer is - their hands are not fully developed yet.... So trust your childs educators are doing everything practicable to support your childs development in developmentally appropriate ways, and trust your child will write when their hands are formed and physically able.

07.01.2022 Bush kindy excursion to Wynnum mangrove walk today. We learnt how important the mangroves are in the environment. We looked up and around to see butterflies. We looked down in the mud and spotted little crabs. #perfectbeginningschildcare

07.01.2022 What a wonderful time we had at beach kindy today. Thank you to the guys from 2 bent rods for helping us to learn more about the fishing experience. We started with our acknowledgement of country, a special connecting to the land for NAIDOC week. We then all had a turn pumping for yabbies, learning about the different creatures found in Moreton Bay as caught in the net. We had turns throwing the fish back and a friendly pelican came to visit which the children loved as he caught some of the fish they threw. We all had turns using a fishing rod also. There were soldier crabs marching and many tidal pools to explore, we all had a fabulous time. We will definitely be making this a regular part of our bush kindy program. #perfectbeginningschildcare #2bentrods #natureplayqld
