19.01.2022 Some exciting new updates to the way we do puppy preschool are happening! There is still no indoor training permitted with the current restrictions (the only safe way to have face to face puppy preschool for your pup is indoors), however we have adapted our lessons to allow a puppy socialisation session outdoors at the clinic, once all pups have had adequate immunisation. 12.01.2022 THE FACTS Behaviour is communication and that communication could very well be "I'm not feeling great". When dogs have a sudden change in behaviour such as ...reluctance to be touched, routine disruption or signs of aggression (growling, snapping, biting) it is always best practice to have an examination by your vet first. Internally and externally. Note any changes in your dog's mobility and digestion especially as these areas have been highlighted in a recent study as probable causes for aggression. Even a trial of medication for suspected illness or injury can help to assess if your dog's behaviour is related to an unseen condition. Your behaviourist should work in conjunction with your vet to help ensure your dog is physically healthy before you begin work on their mental health. 01.01.2022 I know this may be a touchy or distressing subject for some, but I believe we really need to speak about it more. Perfect Paws Behaviour Solutions does not support the selling of dogs for huge profits. There are some fabulous breeders out there that really love their dogs but there are also so many awful places that only want to make huge profits on selling puppies. I have been shocked at the inflation costs related to designer breeds and backyard bred dogs during Covid. Please support rescue wherever possible and find an ethical breeder if you are looking for a puppy. Do your research and view your puppies parents and their living conditions. Photos just don’t cut it. It’s the only way we can end this cycle!
