22.01.2022 With COVID restrictions, our usual routines are disrupted and neighborhoods are more crowded than usual as everybody (in metro Melbourne) are stuck within 5km of our homes. It’s been a struggle to find places to walk our dogs that aren’t crowded with dogs who are often too friendly and in your face. This chart is a great reminder about how our dogs will tell us when they feel uncomfortable about the situation that they’ve been placed in (often unintentionally on our part).... If we act by removing them from the situation when they show the early signs of discomfort (refer to chart - signs shown at the bottom of the ladder), our dogs will not have to sort it out themselves, and resort to behaviours higher up the ladder. The last thing we want is to let our dogs sort it out themselves.
