The study aims to help health practitioners identify people who may be at risk of developing long-term persistent pain and associated complications such as disability (physical and social) and mental health issues. You will be asked to complete a questionnaire at three points in time. The first questionnaire should be completed now and then you will receive reminders to... complete a second questionnaire in three months and again in six months. The questionnaire covers a wide range of topics, including your diagnosis, pain levels, physical symptoms, your background and other related factors. 10.01.2022 CLINICAL TRIAL (VIC): "Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in the treatment of fibromyalgia" This study is exploring a new treatment option base...d upon current knowledge of central nervous system changes in fibromyalgia using repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS); a non-invasive technique that can change the activity of neurons in the brain. To be involved, participants must be aged between 18 and 65 years and have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. Participation will involve attending The Alfred for 20 rTMS treatments over a four week period. Each treatment takes approximately 30 minutes. This study has been approved by the Alfred Health, Monash University and Monash Health ethics committees.
