25.01.2022 Here are some great tips on what to eat if you dont eat wheat and gluten and you train a lot. http://www.lisamiddleton.com.au//the-best-wheatgluten-free

24.01.2022 Love this simple and easy to read explanation of the Alkaline diet given by Felicity Curtain. http://www.scoopnutrition.com//alkalising-trend-2015-gues/

23.01.2022 One of the major supermarkets has started selling less than perfect looking fruit and vegetables for cheaper making healthy food more affordable. This is a great move, lets hope this is just the start of making healthy foods more accessible. http://www.news.com.au//ugly-/story-fneuz8wn-1227143733738

23.01.2022 Finally an image that shows and describes that secret little stomach that allows us to eat dessert even when we are full to the brim. Happy Friday :-)

22.01.2022 It is time that health is looked at from a preventative approach, holding the public and the individual responsible. Addressing obesity like drowning, and treating your health like your wealth. http://www.huffingtonpost.com//the-obesity-fix_b_6261440.h

21.01.2022 Christmas is looming, why not give your loved one the gift of good health this year! Keep your eyes peeled for the soon to be released chrissy specials. http://www.personalisednutrition.org/

21.01.2022 Im just going to leave this here... - Jess.

21.01.2022 This image shows what you could be spending your money on. Invest in your health instead of following an expensive fad that lasts just 30 days. Think about it.

21.01.2022 For all us pregnant ladies; research shows what we eat during pregnancy influences the babys food preferences as a child. Im not sharing this with you to add more pressure but just out of interest. It also explains why I love olives so much, my mum ate them by the jar while pregnant with me! http://www.npr.org//babys-palate-and-food-memories-shaped-

21.01.2022 The worlds healthiest diets have been revealed. It comes as no surprise that they all have unprocessed wholefoods in common. Foods such as whole grains, fruit, vegetables and seafood are given the thumbs up. As I always say, keep it simple, you cant go wrong. http://www.huffingtonpost.com//healthy-diets-around-the-wo

20.01.2022 How are the New Years Resolutions going? We all start out the year with good intentions of getting fit and healthy but often end up falling off the wagon and reverting back to old habits. My top tips: 1. Be Realistic: instead of eliminating foods why not just cut back. 2. DO the things you like: dont sign up to a gym if you hate gym workouts and dont start eating the latest "superfood" if you dont like the taste. Find the things you love doing and eating and stick to that.... 3. Is doesnt have to be all or nothing: So you had a burger and fries and missed your workout for a day, write it off and get back on track. Slipping every now and again is normal just dont let the old habits become daily habits. 4. Plan your Meals: Planning is key to dietary success. Plan your meals and shopping weekly to stay on track and avoid mindless eating. 5. Change your Focus: Aim to be healthy, try not to focus on the magic number you want to reach with your weight. this sets you up for failure and disappointment. See more

20.01.2022 I am seeing a resurgence of Gluten free diets, removing gluten from your diet doesnt make you healthy. Most of the Gluten free products available in supermarkets and health food stores are highly processed. Stick to less refined foods, your body will love you for it.

18.01.2022 A world without chocolate! Im not sure thats a world I want to live in especially when suffering from Mondayitis! Thank gosh for Professor Hadley :-) http://www.theage.com.au//averting-chocageddon-the-profess

18.01.2022 Feeling a little heavy and sluggish after Australia Day? For some reason this special day has become all about drinking and less about celebrating our country. Alcohol plays such a major part in weight gain and poor eating habits. Cutting alcohol out during the week can save on average 8800kJ (2090cal). Thats an entire days kilojoule allowance and is equivalent to eating an entire chocolate cake to yourself each week!! So do yourself and your waistline a favour and restrict drinking moderately to only the weekends.

17.01.2022 The findings of a recent study into fish oil supplements being sold in Australia are less than satisfactory. This shows that trying to get nutrients from natural, whole foods really is best where possible. Bump up your Omega 3 intake by eating oily fish more often. http://www.theguardian.com//fish-oil-rules-reviewed-as-stu

15.01.2022 This month is Fat Talk Free February! This is my new favourite awareness campaign. Make a pledge to yourself that you wont use negative language to describe yours or anyone elses body. Instead try to find a positive way to describe yourself, it will get easier to do as the month passes. http://butterflyeffect.org.au/fat-talk-free-fundraising-fo/

15.01.2022 A breath of fresh air...

13.01.2022 Being Healthy and achieving your goals doesnt have to be boring and it definitely doesnt mean you have to eat bland food. This is my kind of fad diet!!

13.01.2022 I have found since falling pregnant that everyone has an opinion about what I should and shouldnt be doing, and I know I am not alone here. My advice? As always keep it simple, remember you are eating for two people and not like two people, there is a big difference.

12.01.2022 Foods should never be banned, eat everything in moderation. We all know deprivation leads to binge eating and who wants to ban food groups anyway! Building a healthy relationship with food is vital to healthy living. http://www.huffingtonpost.com//foods-never-eat_b_6645716.h

12.01.2022 77% of Aussies surveyed think that junk food should display a health rating. What are your thoughts? Will a rating on junk food products deter you from eating it? http://www.theage.com.au//health-star-rating-system-for-pa

12.01.2022 Happy New Year! Im back after a break over Chrissy and New Years. I hope you all havent subscribed to a rigid food restriction for your new years resolution, we all know it just results in failure right!? http://www.sbs.com.au//23/be-kind-yourself-youll-eat-better

12.01.2022 Its been a while since I posted a recipe. Check these homemade muesli bars out, they are packed full of goodness and make a perfect snack for adults and are a great lunchbox filler for the kids. The recipe is courtesy of Dietitians Pantry, give them a go and let me know what you think. Oh and did I mention there is a chocolate chip variation too!! http://thedieteticdegustation.blogspot.com.au//my-healthy-

09.01.2022 How the world we live in is driving us to obesity, very interesting look at what drives the obesity epidemic. But just because these drivers are present doesnt mean we have to succumb!! https://drjoanna.com.au//new-drivers-of-obesity-uncovered/

09.01.2022 The Katering Show- so so so funny! This is 8 minutes worth taking out of your day! Watch out for the strong language though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UZJRR8OHhY

08.01.2022 Stop the dieting and labeling foods as good and bad. Food is there to fuel our bodies, for enjoyment and should never be associated with feelings of guilt. http://thedietitianspantry.com//food-should-not-equal-gui/

08.01.2022 Everyone is a "Nutrition expert" these days, and its these unqualified people that are responsible for perpetuating the ridiculous fad diets and food myths that I constantly get asked about. Tell me would you let an unqualified electrician wire up your house just because they have an interest in it? Sounds ridiculous right? Seek advice from a qualified nutritionist to get the most accurate and sustainable health advice not from Susie next door who once lost 5 kilos from following a diet she found in an article on Google. http://www.huffingtonpost.com//nutrition-advice_b_3061646.

08.01.2022 These scorching hot days call for light and fresh salads for dinner. Try this tasty salad recipe, your body will love you for it. http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/1608/summer+beef+salad

08.01.2022 The are the top 10 misconceptions in "alternative nutrition", none of these common beliefs are supported by evidence based nutrition. This further supports my post from Wednesday, no foods should be banned. http://authoritynutrition.com/10-biggest-myths-in-alternat/

06.01.2022 From today until Christmas book a consult for you and a friend and pay just $70 each, saving $30 each. Get on top of your health today but hurry this is a limited offer.

05.01.2022 Happy Chinese New Year! Why not do as the Chinese do and eat using chopsticks. Research shows that using chopsticks slows your rate of eating and results in more mindful eating. http://www.thinkingnutrition.com.au/using-chopsticks-good-/

04.01.2022 Kicking off the diet fads for 2015 is Birch water, apparently replacing coconut water. Just like most other fads it cures everything from liver disease to eczema! Wow sounds like a miracle right? Remember if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. http://www.dailymail.co.uk//Forget-coconut-water-BIRCH-wat

03.01.2022 Check out the new specials just in time for Christmas. Give the gift of health and purchase a consult for a friend or family member. http://www.personalisednutrition.org/

03.01.2022 You dont have to go to extremes to be healthy, every positive healthful change you make to be healthier is enough. Think swapping out that daily chocolate bar for a piece of fruit and only save the chocolate for a treat once a week. Small changes make big differences :)

01.01.2022 Couldnt have said it better myself. Go for nourishment not deprivation, healthy eating not fad dieting.

01.01.2022 Its been a while since I have put a recipe up. I tried this delicious salad last night, it was fresh, tasty and so easy. I replaced the pine nuts with almonds, highly recommend! http://thedietitianspantry.com//chicken-mango-pine-nut-sa/
