25.01.2022 Steve Tallis had a fond farewell at Perth Folk and Roots Club last Sunday prior to his departure for Paris with many a fan and friend turning up and dancing to his latest songs of the album, Where Many Rivers Meet as well as a number of crowd favourites.



24.01.2022 Cathy Earl won the audience with her big voice and heartfelt delivery on vocals and acoustic guitar at the Perth Folk and Roots Club last Sunday for a special show for sponsors Masonic Care. Her originals were well received and some were revealed to the public for the first time.

24.01.2022 Perth Folk and Roots Club sponsored by Masonic Care has GypsyLou and Cathy Earl at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley on Sunday 22 November from 5pm. GypsyLou is a two-part vocal harmony duo with guitar accompaniment, playing traditional Irish and Scottish folk music, original indie-folk songs plus covers of popular music.

22.01.2022 Oceanique from Walpole charmed the Perth Folk and Roots Club audience with their performance on the show for Sunday 23rd August featuring their wonderful harmony vocals and original songs.



21.01.2022 John Howard backed by a great band launched his new CD, Vintage Commando at Perth Folk and Roots Club last Sunday. John sang his new songs with heart, played some great licks on his red electric strat and got some dancing happening as well.

19.01.2022 OhJa will be performing at Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club this Sunday 25th October 2020 along with Steve Tallis. OhJa is a recently formed trio whose repertoire features experimental jazz covers raging from Jobim to Childish Cambino. The trio features WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) musicians Jasmine Shea on vocals, Oliver Vonlanthen on guitar and saxophonist Alanna Chapman from the James Morrison Academy of Jazz.

19.01.2022 Donna Iverson in duet displayed wonderful harmonies for her melodic songs and charmed the Perth Folk and Roots Club audience last Sunday. Donna in turn enjoyed the laid back vibe of Perth Folk and Roots Club.

19.01.2022 Kerry B Ryan will be playing at Perth Folk and Roots Club with Oceanique at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club next Sunday 23rd August 2020 from 5pm to 8pm. Kerry’s 2nd CD Crazy Blues which has been getting airplay across Australia on blues programs and also airplay in the USA.

13.01.2022 Steve Tallis will be playing at the next Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 25th October 2020 along with OhJa. Steve Tallis recently launched his new CD, Where Many Rivers Meet which will be available at his show at Perth Folk and Roots Club and is planning after this show to travel to Paris. Steve is Western Australia’s self proclaimed blues shaman who has been performing and recording since the 1960’s and is a major figure in the Perth blues scene.

13.01.2022 Perth Folk and Roots Club is back with live folk and roots music at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club on Sunday 27th September 2020. For this event, the Perth Folk and Roots Club has John Howard and Donna Iverson. John Howard is releasing a new album ‘Vintage Commando’ which he will be featuring along with songs from his first album. John will be joined by Jon Matthews on electric guitar and Alan Dawson on bass guitar. Donna Iverson is a singer songwriter who is focused on melodically rich storytelling, acoustic folk rock musings and imaginings and has performed at Perth Fringe Festival as well as Defectors Bar in Mt Lawley, Choo Choos Bar, Swan Hotel and the North Fremantle Bowling Club.

12.01.2022 Kings of Dystopia, the Perth Folk and Roots Club house band is playing at the Gypsy Tapas House, 124 High Street, Fremantle, from 7.30pm on Friday 18 September 2020. Kings of Dystopia features Keith Anthonisz, John McNair and Paul Homewood who have been playing on and off for over thirty years. The music is original, melodic, mysterious and hard edged all at the same time and on this occasion, they will be the main course.



09.01.2022 OhJa gave a wonderful debut at Perth Folk and Roots Club at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club last Sunday with Jasmine Shea on vocals, Oliver Vonlanthen on guitar and Alanna Chapman on sax. OhJa was well received by a generous crowd who enjoyed their interpretations of a number of jazz standards.

07.01.2022 Oceanique will be playing along with Kerry B Ryan at the next Perth Folk and Roots Club this Sunday 23rd August 2020 at the Inglewood Bowling and Sports Club, 1 Stancliffe Street, Mount Lawley starting at 5pm. Oceanique, is an Indie Folk duet based in Perth. They have breezy and beautiful story telling lyrics and sibling harmonies fronted by twins, Maddy and Jess Larkman, originally from Walpole WA.
