20.01.2022 Take a look at a recent commission we completed for St Michael and All Angels, Cannington. A simple window design portraying The Story of Moses and the Exodus from Egypt. Synopsis - According to the story of Exodus, The Hebrews living in Egypt were enslaved by the Pharaoh. Moses was chosen by God to lead these Israelites out of slavery and into Mount Sinai, the land promised to Abraham. The story goes on to say, God spoke to Moses from a bush that was on fire but didn't b...urn, and instructed Moses to travel back to Egypt to lead the Hebrews out of slavery. (The burning bush is represented in the mid section of the window) As Moses fled with the Hebrews, the Pharaoh's army followed in close pursuit to retrieve them. It is told that Moses stretched out his hand over the Red Sea; and the Lord caused the waters to divide, creating a path of dry land for the children of Israel to travel across, to the safe lands of Mount Sinai. (Also depicted in the window) Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. This window was generously donated by one of the parishioners, to become a story window for the children. 19.01.2022 A recent project we completed for the Trinity Uniting Church, Perth portraying St. Vincent Ferrer. St. Vincent Ferrer was a Valencian Dominican friar and preacher, who gained acclaim as a missionary and a logician. He is honoured, by the Catholic Church, as the patron saint of builders, renowned for "building up" and strengthening the Church, through his preaching, missionary work, and teachings. This window was created as a memorial piece for the late Peter Thompson, who looked after the Uniting Church properties in the city. 16.01.2022 Recently we completed a stained glass window commissioned by St Joseph Pignatelli. The cruciform window was designed and created using Lamberts antique glass in four sections with joining leads. There were a few challenges to make sure everything connected during the fitting but fortunately our forward planning paid off and all went according to plan. 16.01.2022 A beautiful new piece of glass art has been installed at an aged care facility in Alkimos by Perth Art Glass. The artwork measures 1200 x 6300mm and weighs over 180kg. It was custom textured, low iron, 10mm glass, painted, mirrored and includes laminated surface details. The workshop crew put in tremendous effort to create this masterpiece. Thanks to our friends at @living.iron who, with Ian, designed the discrete mounting brackets and made sure they were engineered to take ...the load. Thanks also to @bscotchmer at Glass Surface Coatings for letting us take over their spray booth and allowing us to direct them during the spraying.

14.01.2022 We fired up the torches for the last time this year but we'll be back next year for bead making when the weather starts to cool down again. Saturday's class braved the heat and produced some great beads. Here are the results

08.01.2022 The last leadlighting weekend of the year was a great success with one happy crafter saying "John was such a great facilitator and my husband and I felt so comfortable and supported under his guidance.... We loved every minute and we are so happy with our finished artwork." The class made some wonderful pieces under John's direction. If you want to start your leadlight journey; 2021 courses will be announced in early Feb. Keep your eyes on this space.
