17.01.2022 SNAKES FOUND ON PLANES Thunderbirds were unable to come away with any points against Rockingham Vipers in their Round 7 trip to Lark Hill on Saturday. The Juniors kicked off the day and came perilously close after holding the lead late in the game, but ultimately slip to 2-2 for the season after a 20-18 loss.... Also suffering their second loss for the season was the Womens team, who were beat resoundingly 40-8, and finish the calendar year at 3-2. And despite going down 44-12, the Seniors walk away positive new schemes on both offence and defence will be the catalyst to a strong second half of the season. Next week, only the Seniors suit up as they travel to Mt Lawley to take on Vincent City Ducks. Our Juniors and Women will have an extended break and return in 2021 against the Saints. Our final game for 2020 will take place at 4pm before all Gridiron West teams break over Christmas and New Year. 15.01.2022 THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO Thunderbird’s Women’s team kicked off their Gridiron West Championship with a narrow victory against Curtin Saints while the Junior and Senior teams were both beaten. The Round 2 fixture at Edinburgh Oval saw the reigning champions go blow-for-blow with a determined Saints women team, walking away eventual 26-22 winners.... The Thunderbirds women who will wear Perth Blitz’s colours throughout the season continue an amazing run of never losing a regular season game. Also opening their championship defence were the Thunderbird juniors who donned the Claremont Jets uniform. Unfortunately, the boys in green, were outclassed by a Saints team who executed their game plan well, coming out 30-20 victors. Rounding off the day were the Seniors who were outclassed 52-6. Round 3 will see Thunderbirds travel to Lightning Park to take on Perth Broncos. Juniors start the day at 3pm, Women battle at 5pm, and Seniors play at 7pm. After Round 2, Thunderbirds sit at: Juniors 0-1 | PCT: 0.000 | For: 20 | Against: 30 Women 1-0 | PCT: 1.000 | For: 26 | Against: 22 Seniors 1-1 | PCT: 0.500 | For: 32 | Against: 52 #thunderbirdsarego #oneteamonedream

14.01.2022 Undefeated in 2021 Two games were playing in Round 9 with the Juniors game being postponed due to extreme heat, and the Thunderbirds are yet to lose in 2021. In a high scoring contest, the 38-24 victory sees the women move into third place in the standings and primed for a tilt at defending their championship. After six games, the girls sit at four wins and two losses.... And in an entertaining tussle, the Seniors played their best game in a 20-20 contest. The drew moves the merged club to two wins, six losses, and one draw for the season Next week, the Thunderbirds travel to Lightning Park to take on the Perth Broncos.

14.01.2022 You ready for our first home game? vs Swan City Titans Gridiron Club James Miller Oval, Manning Women - 2pm, Seniors - 4pm... #thunderbirdsarego #oneteamonedream

14.01.2022 Gridiron West - Round 8 Thunderbirds vs Vincent City Ducks It's our final game of 2020 and what a year it's been.... Our Seniors will be the only team to take to the field as the Juniors and Women get to hit the Christmas pudding a little early. The last time these two teams faced off, it was a 20-0 win to the Thunderbirds, and both teams have improved significantly since then. Despite losing last week, our team in blue and green will want to finish strong and hit 2021 with a full head of steam. We would like to thank all the players, fans, family, friends for a great year. And would love to see everyone down before the festivities come around Saturday 19.12.2020 Forrest Park, Mt Lawley Juniors - BYE Women - BYE Seniors - 4pm Claremont Jets Gridiron #thunderbirdsarego #oneteamonedream #gridironwest

13.01.2022 Gridiron West - Round 5 Thunderbirds vs Swan City Titans Gridiron Club It's our first home game for 2020/21, and we're in for a great game!... Our women have suffered their first defeat for the season and a host of players will be back, ready to make a statement after a rough encounter two weeks ago. And our Seniors have been putting in a huge effort on the training track, and will look to get their mojo back after a dogged win last week. It's always a rough game when we play the team in white and navy blue, but there's no other way we'd want it. Come down, enjoy our fully licensed bar and kitchen facilities, along with our seating in the grandstand. It's going to be a great fixture and we'd love a massive crowd there for our first home game! Juniors - Bye Women - 2pm Seniors - 4pm James Miller Oval, Manning Saturday 28.11.2020 #gridironwest #thunderbirdsarego #oneteamonedream

13.01.2022 SECOND WIN FOR THE SEASON Thunderbirds Seniors registered their second win for the season with a 34-20 win over Westside Steelers on Saturday. The Round 4 victory at John Moloney Park breaks a two game losing streak and the team in green and blue sits at .500 for the 2020/21 Gridiron West season.... After a sluggish start which saw the Steelers get on the scoreboard early, the Thunderbirds were forced to come from behind for the win. Ultimately, the merged club between Perth Blitz and Claremont Jets walk away with the two points but much will be needed to be worked on during the week before playing their first home game for the year. On Saturday November 28, the Thunderbirds play Swan City Titans at James Miller Oval. Women kick off the day at 1pm and Seniors battle at 4pm, with Juniors on a bye. After Round 4, Thunderbirds sit at: Juniors 1-1 | PCT: 0.500 | For: 48 | Against: 42 Women 1-1 | PCT: 0.500 | For: 26 | Against: 54 Seniors 2-2 | PCT: 0.500 | For: 60 | Against: 106

13.01.2022 Gridiron West - Round 10 Thunderbirds vs Perth Broncos American Football Club After a great week last week against Curtin Saints, we travel to Noranda to take on the formidable Perth Broncos.... The last time we played at Lightning Park, only our Juniors walked away winners. Hopefully this time we can make it three wins from three games. The Broncos always prove to be difficult opponents, but a tough week on the track will hopefully make us match-hardened and we can continue our march towards playoffs. It's getting towards the pointy end of the season now, so we look forward to seeing all our supporters out in force this weekend! Saturday 16.01.2021 Lightning Park Recreation Centre, Noranda Juniors - 3pm Women - 5pm Seniors - 7pm Claremont Jets Gridiron #thunderbirdsarego #oneteamonedream #gridironwest

09.01.2022 Gridiron West - Round 4 Thunderbirds vs Westside Steelers Gridiron Club After a wet, wild, and ultimately disappointing Round 3, the senior Thunderbirds team will be out to redeem themselves.... The last two rounds saw our men held to doughnuts, and it's time to turn up on the offence and break a two-game losing streak. It's a trip up north for our Seniors, while the Juniors and Women have the week off. We will see big touchdowns, powerful hits, and an all-round great day, so we hope to see everyone travel to the northern suburbs and get behind our team! Juniors - Bye Women - Bye Seniors - 4pm Saturday 21.11.2020 John Moloney Park, Marangaroo #thunderbirdsarego #oneteamonedream #gridironwest

05.01.2022 Gridiron West - Round 3 Thunderbirds vs Perth Broncos American Football Club It's a big fixture for two proud clubs. ... The Thunderbirds had a weekend of mixed results last Saturday, and all three teams have their chance to get one over their fierce rivals. Our Seniors had a rough encounter against the Saints, and have hit the training ground hard this week to iron out some kinks. The Juniors are looking to do what our Women did last week and get off the mark in their championship defense, and will want to atone for last week's disappointing loss. Meanwhile our women look to continue a dominant run in the women’s competition, both in the regular season and post-season. This week sees another tricky opposition against a well coached and tough Broncos team hungry for a win. All three teams are in action, can we walk away with three victories? Would love to have support down on our sideline - see you on Saturday! Juniors - 3pm Women - 5pm Seniors - 7pm Saturday 14.11.2020 Lightning Park Recreation Centre, Noranda #thunderbirdsarego #oneteamonedream #gridironwest

03.01.2022 UP AND AWAY The Junior Thunderbirds team secured victory over Perth Broncos on Saturday to kick off their 2020/21 season, while the women and seniors were beaten. In wet, cold, and difficult conditions, the Round 3 fixture at, the aptly named, Lightning Park saw our team in green comfortably control the game to walk away eventual 28-12 winners. ... The rain and sometimes lightning did not stop all day and night, and after the juniors’ victory, that is where the points dried up for the merged club. Missing a number of players from the Women’s side, the girls in blue fought hard and suffered defeat for the first time this season, going down 32-0. It was a similar fate for the Seniors, who toiled hard in the rain and came up scoreless for the second week running, going down 34-0. Next week the Thunderbirds travel to Marangaroo to take on Westside Steelers. Only the Seniors will take to the field while the Juniors and Women both have byes. The game will commence at 4pm at John Moloney Park. After Round 3, Thunderbirds sit at: Juniors 1-1 | PCT: 0.500 | For: 48 | Against: 42 Women 1-1 | PCT: 0.500 | For: 26 | Against: 54 Seniors 1-2 | PCT: 0.333 | For: 26 | Against: 86
