25.01.2022 METRONET station precincts will provide more housing choice for Perth, and Design WA’s new draft Medium Density Code is about ensuring that housing is high quality. Help shape our city by heading along to a free workshop, see details below.

25.01.2022 The results are in and almost 500 survey respondents told us that the easing of congestion, saving time and increased safety are what excites the community most when it comes to the removal of up to six level crossings on the Inner Armadale Line. For a detailed look at the survey results read more here https://www.metronet.wa.gov.au//survey-captures-community-

24.01.2022 #flashbackfriday to a year ago when we relocated the Bayswater Kurrajong Tree! Since its relocation the tree has been under close watch by arborists at the City of Bayswater, with weekly health checks. We’re pleased to report the tree is in good health. It’s looking forward to some cooler weather (as are we!) but for now, with new root and canopy growth, tailored reticulation and ongoing fertilisation it is strong enough to tough out the rest of summer and beyond. We unders...tand that mature trees are an important part of local landscapes and we're happy that we could save and relocate this historic and significant Kurrajong tree. While we do have to remove some other mature trees to make way for the new tracks and station, our landscape planners are working to ensure that the new station precinct will include as many shade-giving trees as possible. 24.01.2022 Last weekend 110 people came together to construct a new pedestrian underpass and undertake other major works across the entire Claremont Station Project site, between Showgrounds and Swanbourne stations. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the community for their patience during these works, which were successfully completed during a partial closure of the Fremantle Line. Check out the timelapse vision in the video

24.01.2022 So Perth has highlighted the Morley-Ellenbrook Line as a significant project that is part of Building For Tomorrow In the long-term these projects will better connect areas of Perth and the regions, reduce congestion and travel times, and give the WA public choice in how they want to travel. The Morley-Ellenbrook Line in particular will provide opportunities for local employment, traineeships and apprenticeships plus contract opportunities for WA businesses in the plannin...g, construction, and the operation of the project. Read more below and follow Building For Tomorrow for information and updates on WA's major transport projects and how construction may affect your travel.

23.01.2022 A new pedestrian underpass is being built as part of the Claremont Station Project. To help build the new underpass, the Fremantle Line will be partially closed between Showgrounds and Fremantle stations from 8 12 October. More information on this can be found here https://www.metronet.wa.gov.au//claremont-st/construction A community survey earlier this year identified the pedestrian underpass as a great opportunity to use public art to share local stories of the area. Find out more about Public Art at Claremont Station in our fact sheet here https://www.metronet.wa.gov.au/claremont#public-art.

22.01.2022 #throwbackthursday With railcar manufacturing soon returning to WA, we had a chat with Michael Watts- a long-serving Midland Line customer service staff member and former employee of the original railcar manufacturing facilities in Bellevue. He looked back at the fond memories he made during his time in the workshops and how he rose up the ranks from apprentice in 1965 to foreman. Find out more about Michael's experience and the return of the railcar facility here https://www.metronet.wa.gov.au//blast-from-the-past-for-ne

22.01.2022 If you’re a resident of the northern corridor, you may have driven past these works wondering what they’re for. The Yanchep Rail Extension project team are constructing a temporary entrance to the future Alkimos Station. There is a footpath detour in place to keep pedestrian and cyclists safely separated from construction vehicles. Take a look below to see what we’ve been up to. If you want to see more of whats happening on the project, join our Yanchep Rail Extension community group https://www.facebook.com/groups/yancheprailextension/

15.01.2022 Before works start on the Thornlie-Cockburn link, we send a team out to spot and relocate any animals in the project area with ecologists already safely rehoming several native wildlife to nearby suitable bushland. Recently a considerable team effort went into successfully relocating a ravens nest, which had a few hatchlings. The mother quickly found and cared for her babies after the relocation and at last check, all were doing well.
