Because it gives you an idea of the appetite for property. In short people are getting hungrier for property in Perth due to being the best value capital city in Australia, lowest interest rates ever (and just went lower yesterday by .25) and increasing yields (higher rents). The vacancy rate is the lowest its been for years at ...2.3%! I'm not sure how much tastier this can get for investors. The only issue is lending. Due to tougher lending criteria it's not as easy to get a loan. Of course for those investors already in the market this is creating a storm that could see your rentals really sky rocket due to little extra supply coming onto the market.
