Sue who lives on Blamey Cres and I chatted about community consultation and how important it is, because we don’t have local Councillors to represent us.. ... NB Recyclers! Check out the teak(?) boxes painted in silver. PERFECT bedside tables or for kids toys puzzles etc! They were looking for a new home around 2 pm today so if you can use them, DM me for the address! 18.01.2022 A GOOD CORFLUTE story ?? No way!! Yes it is! I only have a few corflutes, I’m not keen on the unfettered forests of them, the idea of the waste and landfill makes me wince, but they are one of the few ways minors and independents can get their names out there ( see earlier post about my 5 min interview after polling has started ) so people know we exist!... So my little collection is a bit precious - I have moved some from the front yards of my generous supporters and friends to the street for the last push. I’ve just had to hope they don’t get nicked or vandalised. Mind you I am hoping for a moustache like Tara’s, that’s FB GOLD! So I put mine out and noticed a couple a days ago one of mine looking a bit bedraggled - but still attached to the stake- Lo and Behold - someone has seen the ‘flute popped off the stake and put their own zip tie through the holes and attached it BACK TO THE STAKE!!! How good is that. Someone I don’t know, who could have chucked it in the bin, or been resentful of the eyesore/nuisance/ distraction. But they didn’t. They saved my ‘flute, made my week and restored my faith in the truth that people are mainly good, and around my neighbourhood they are TOPS! So she’s back in the workshop ready for a little corrective surgery ( with some extra reinforcement this time please Captain!) and then it’s out on the hustings again!! 13.01.2022 One of the reasons I am running as a candidate for the Canberra Progressives is because I am tired with the mono-cultural nature of the three major party leaders. They are all essentially the same, three meat pies, well definitely two meat and one vegetarian pastie. They don't represent my community, they don't listen to my community. We need a cross bench, NOW. I want to bring my broad lived experience to the place where the decisions are made. It is one of the strengths I ...will bring if I am elected. I was asked the other day about my bio, my experience, particularly the bit about "Medal Winning Barbershop Chorus member", and I thought "Yes, it sounds pretty out there" but here is the proof! It was an amazing experience, and I learned so much more than how to sing the right note - although in highly technical four part harmony it is kinda the main point! I learned about team work, timing, developing my skills and addressing weaknesses. I learned how to harness the strengths of others, how to lead, and when to follow. And how to have FUN! I also learned that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, except when someone puts it on YouTube.....
