25.01.2022 My walk today was a mixed bag, the birds seemed to have run for cover but I did stumble upon two snakes - I'm not an avid snake fan and I tend to categorise them in to two groups, (Good Snake Bad Snake). This one is harmless and eats Cane Toads, so its a good snake :-) Keelback Snake... #snakesalive #keelbacksnake #watersnake #noosaheads #nonvenomous

25.01.2022 ..............He went that way! Welcome Swallow

23.01.2022 Shining Bronze Cuckoo seen this morning #yandinacreekwetland

22.01.2022 The second of the two snakes I ran in to yesterday. Thankfully another GOOD snake and non venomous. I really struggled to get any sort of shot as my lens just would not focus on its head. I nearly tossed the whole rig in the pond in frustration. Anyway, this was the best of a bad lot. Green Tree Snake.

19.01.2022 A Red backed fairy-wren from a day off on Sunday

18.01.2022 I was lucky enough to find a beautiful Forest Kingfisher this afternoon. It took a while before I could get a clear shot but well worth the wait - Have a great weekend Forest Kingfisher

18.01.2022 Here are a just a few of my favourite images from 2020 - A BIG thanks to everyone who has liked, commented and encouraged me this year. Cheers Pete

17.01.2022 Yes, another Red backed Fairy-wren shot.....well, he just sat up pretty for me. I wonder what goes on in their little heads when they see us pointing our big lenses at them? Red backed Fairy-wren

17.01.2022 I went to a spot that a friend showed me today that usually produces some lovely birds.....all I could find there today was this little Golden Whistler. So I just sat there listening to his beautiful whistle and snapped the occasional pic when he showed himself ...........it doesnt get much better :-) Golden Whistler

16.01.2022 Bird on a wire A white throated honeyeater land on the fence next to me this morning and though I'd much rather not take a photo of a bird on a man made object sometimes you just have to take what you get :-) white throated honeyeater

16.01.2022 The Glasshouse Mountains - A nice time up on the hill today. Taken with my Huawei phone and edited in Lightroom

16.01.2022 My first photo post for week and its a little Sacred Kingfisher that I saw this afternoon.....I was lucky with some sunlight before it disappeared behind clouds and ended the good light Sacred Kingfisher

16.01.2022 A red-backed fairy wren that was hanging out with the Cisticola that I was photographing

16.01.2022 Still a few shots of this little beauty to show so here's another of the little female Leaden Flycatcher that I took yesterday - lucky to get a nice dark background this time. Leaden Flycatcher

14.01.2022 I am so disappointed! A good friend shared the location of a pair of Tawny Frogmouths which I have kept to myself....I went to check on them today only to find that some Moron has cut their tree down.......obviously it may have been marked as diseased or something, I get that BUT these birds were at eye level and resident on this tree for some months. Surely the cutting down of this tree could have waited until they moved on ! NOT HAPPY JAN

14.01.2022 I was hiding in the bushes waiting for an Azure Kingfisher to land just in the right spot for a photo (he didnt) but I noticed that I was surrounded by lots bees doing what bees do..........Im never one to pass up a photo op Busy Bee

14.01.2022 A Comb-crested Jacana.....just leaving :( .........but at least I got one shot :) Comb-crested Jacana

13.01.2022 A day off today so I thought Id nip down to Cotton Tree at sunset for something other than birds :-) Cotton Tree Maroochydore

13.01.2022 I managed to get a few shots of a Leaden Flycatcher yesterday - Hope youre all having a good weekend :-) Bird photography is a great way of social distancing........apart from the skateboarders that even seem to find me deep in the woods!! Leaden Flycatcher

12.01.2022 Life around the pond this afternoon A lone Double barred Finch. Unusual to find one on its own but here he is.....and he sat nicely for me

12.01.2022 A Double-barred Finch from a walk around Park lakes

12.01.2022 I haven't been able to get out with the camera for a few days so I'll have to make do with editing some older shots Tiger

11.01.2022 Im pleased to report that the "Noosa Tawnys" are doing OK despite having their tree chainsawed!! (but still angry). They have relocated a few metres away but in a much more difficult place to photograph....but thats probably a good thing as they are harder to spot too.

11.01.2022 I went to my usual Thursday spot this morning......all I could find was this little one - Still, it is Australias prettiest bird (in my opinion) Rufous Fantail

11.01.2022 Life around the pond - Comb-crested Jacanas

11.01.2022 A beautiful Eastern Water Dragon sunning himself on an old log

10.01.2022 A few of the ABC social media sites picked up one of my Osprey shots from Instagram last week...Heres the full size shot instead of the square one. Osprey with a fish

07.01.2022 A resting swallow - A lovely contrast between the delicacy of a tiny bird and the rigidity of the heavy chain

07.01.2022 A resting Swallow watching the world go by

07.01.2022 I took this shot at Yaroomba this morning. I saw two pairs nesting and watched them (from a distance)taking fresh bugs into the burrows for the young. All was well until I was subjected to a torrent of abuse from a shirtless man in a straw hat with a dog......Man, this guy was out of control and I told him reasonably politely to go away!! Although it didn't bother me particularly, until he called me an English C (then I really told him to go away) it would probably upset and intimidate any female photographers visiting the park so I'd suggest you take a friend along. Anyone else come across this bloke?

06.01.2022 Another shot of a little fantail that found me this morning Rufous Fantail

06.01.2022 I was trying to photograph a Spectacled Monarch...........but this little fantail had other ideas Rufous Fantail

03.01.2022 Another shot of a really co-operative Rufous Fantail from yesterday in Noosa

03.01.2022 The lake at Town of Seaside is now almost completely covered in green weed.......But this little Willy Wagtail seemed happy enough #sunshinecoastcouncil #weeds #Algie #willywagtail #peteevansphotography

03.01.2022 A Red-backed fairy wren in the late afternoon sun. One of my favourite birds. Even though they are one of our most common its always a challenge to get a good shot as they are so black and shiny its sometimes hard to get good feather definition. Red-backed fairy wren

02.01.2022 I stumbled into a pair of cuckoos this morning.......they were making such a noise and werent hard to find. I was lucky to get this one with a little sunlight on him Shining Bronze Cuckoo

01.01.2022 A beautiful warm Spring day here today.....I strolled around the lake and watched the birds having a game of water polo.....nothing got past this guy :-)

01.01.2022 There's something very peaceful about the moon.......after 2020 we need some peace 27th December 2020

01.01.2022 A photo from my morning walk around Parklakes today. I saw Sacred and Forest Kingfishers, Little Wattlebirds, a Mistletoe bird, Black Swans, and several other species but my favourites were the Double Barred Finches :-)
