23.01.2022 Winter certainly made an appearance on the weekend. Here is a couple of photos of some of our preschoolers who took a short drive to build a snowman. We also have a few families who have been to the snow recently. Has your family been to the snow? Can you email your snow photos to [email protected] Tomorrow we will attempt to make our own Snow - Tamara

23.01.2022 Our new hammock!!! To say our children love it is an understatement.

22.01.2022 As educators we can focus on building protective factors and reducing risk factors. In doing this we support children to develop the skills to manage changes and stressful events. bit.ly/3f5c7q9

19.01.2022 Today we say farewell to Narelle. We thank you Narelle for your dedication over the past 10 years. During this time so many children have had the opportunity to learn so much from you, from your enthusiasm and creativity to your patience and willingness to listen. From us to you, say a huge thankyou and good luck in your future adventures

19.01.2022 On Friday some of the children chose to help Lou & Tracey plant our new fruit & vegetables into our new garden. After discussions involving the children over a number of weeks, we decided to plant some corn, strawberries, tomato, snap peas, carrot, purple carrot, cucumber, capsicum and watermelon. During our gardening experience the children & Educators chatted about their own favourite fruits and veggies as well as what sort of gardens and plants they have at home. Over the ...next few months the children will be encouraged to care for our gardens whilst watching them grow and flourish. Hopefully it won't be long before we can pick and eat our very own home grown produce. We would also like to mention to our families that we currently have some thriving rosemary plants in our yard so feel free to take some for your own cooking. Our vegie garden is located up near the mud kitchen close to the fence so don't forget to check it out for yourself. Lou & Tracey are looking at ideas to create a scarecrow with the children in the near future so stay tuned to see what we come up with. See more

18.01.2022 A very Happy Educators Day to all the wonderful Educators at Peter Pan. Hope you have a great day.

14.01.2022 Our children were excited to see our chickens are continuing to lay some eggs. Our first egg popped out on Friday & we seem to have had one layed every day since. When asked what we could do with the egg Amelia replied "But there's a baby chicken inside it". We have also moved the chickens to behind the cubby house. This allows for them to have a bit more space as well as being at eye level for the children to hand feed them and 'chat'.

13.01.2022 During the week the children have been experimenting with creating volcano's. This is introducing basic science concepts as the children followed a visual method and witnessed two ingredients (vinegar and bi carb soda) cause a reaction.

13.01.2022 This week we are extending on the children's interest in climbing on the large blue hammock. Look what happens when we add a rope & a greater slope..........

12.01.2022 After a lot of letter writing I thought I would introduce some real letters to the children. This sparked conversations about addresses, house numbers, towns, states and countries. We also talked about the postage stamp, and how the envelopes needed to be written on. If your child wrote a letter keep an eye out in the post. - Alyssa

11.01.2022 Toast making was again a very popular activity this morning. The children were feeling very hungry before morning tea so this helped tide them over. They are learning important self help and fine motor skills when preparing their toast.

08.01.2022 Walking & balancing on out tightrope can be very challenging, especially when someone wants to make it wobbley

08.01.2022 This morning in the hibiscus room the children had a turn of making themselves a piece of toast. We had some interesting combinations going on the toast but everyone ate every piece of toast they made. Delicious

07.01.2022 James and Johnny have brought in their pet mice today to show their peers. They have been very popular, the children have enjoyed watching their antics. They have even inspired some of the children to draw them.

07.01.2022 Our children are certainly practicing their awareness & sharing skills with our new 'Friends' Lego. "Does anyone need 2 bells?" jasmin asked. "I do," replied Ella. "Put your hand up if you need a phone?" Offered Ara. "Me" Behati replied excitedly. Lego offers children so many opportunities to develop their communication, fine motor, idea sharing, language, imagination, creativity and counting skills just to name a few.

06.01.2022 During our Guided Groups today our wonderful children are practicing their scissor grips & cutting skills. We are always amazed at how keen the children are to develop their skills & share their accomplishments with others, they are becoming so clever

05.01.2022 Our first egg found after the children had left for the day. How exciting will next week be if we find more?

04.01.2022 Some snapshots of our morning play.......

04.01.2022 Following up on some of our children who visited the recent snow

04.01.2022 Meanwhile, the rest of the playground was looking like this.........

02.01.2022 Due to the wet weather this morning some pop up tents where added indoors. The children moved them around and created mazes to crawl through. Crawling is a fantastic activity to strengthen core muscles. Strong Core muscles are important to help children to sit and concentrate during learning.

01.01.2022 This morning Karen has done some cooking with our preschoolers. Cooking is a great way to introduce mathematical and scientific concepts.
