25.01.2022 It’s National Recycling Week and I want to highlight the efforts of Genesis Christian College, one of the amazing schools in my electorate. Genesis has some remarkable student-led programs and initiatives incorporating recycling and sustainability across their entire school. From collecting e-waste and batteries in their IT Department; bin stations for organics in their Home Ec kitchen and tuck shop; to composting and worm farming at their agricultural farm. Even the outdoor seating benches are made from recycled materials! Thank you for hosting Assistant Minister for Waste Reduction and Environmental Management, Trevor Evans MP and I.

23.01.2022 Behind every image produced or shared is a child being abused. Kate Laidler and the Victim Identification team took on the gut wrenching task of repeatedly sea...rching through every video and image seized during Operation Arkstone for clues to identify every child depicted in the abhorrent material. Evidence gathered at each warrant led to the discovery of more alleged offenders and more children to be saved from ongoing abuse.

The Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation is increasingly receiving more reports of online child sex offenders from around the world engaging with younger children. 22.01.2022 This morning Kirilly and I, along with many others, gathered to remember and to honour Daniel. In the 15 years since the Daniel Morcombe Foundation was established, many children will have been saved because of Bruce and Denise’s tireless education and safety campaigns. The number of people who walked this morning is a testament to Bruce’s and Denise’s many years of hard work, but it is also a sign of the huge personal respect we as a community have for them.... 17.01.2022 It began as a single arrest in February 2020 and led to one of the most significant child protection investigations by the AFP. To date, Operation Arkstone has ...identified 46 child victims and resulted in 14 men charged across Australia. The reach of this operation is global, with 146 referrals now sent to law enforcement worldwide about possible offending. Three arrests have already been made in the US. This investigation is not over. The alleged offenders are still going through court processes. And since the time we filmed this, further child victims were identified. In part one, Phillip Chaves from U.S. Embassy Canberra Immigration And Customs Enforcement (ICE) and AFP child protections investigator Scott Veltmeyer, explain how the operation unfolded from Australia to the United States.

Our law enforcement agencies share critical information to stop and arrest child sex abusers and therefore rescue children from harm. Yesterday I visited the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation with the US Ambassador to Australia, Arthur B. Culvahouse Jr. to introduce him to the men and women doing this vital work.

06.01.2022 There is no greater responsibility for our Government than keeping our most vulnerable safe; so today I was very proud to officially open the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation with Australian Federal Police Commissioner Kershaw in Brisbane. This $70 million facility is purpose built to protect Australian children and track down those who would seek to do them harm. I pay tribute to and thank the hardworking federal and state officers and investigators who dedicate themselves every day to ensuring our kids are safe in our community.

The listing will save families more than $367,000 per treatment, and give beautiful young Australians a better quality of life.
