25.01.2022 Remembrance Day has a special significance in 2018. Sunday, 11 November 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (191418). One hundred years ago, on 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. With their armies retreating and close to collapse, German leaders signed an Armistice, bringing to an end the First World War. From the summer of 1918, the five divisions of the Australian... Corps had been at the forefront of the allied advance to victory. Beginning with their stunning success at the battle of Hamel in July, they helped to turn the tide of the war at Amiens in August, followed by the capture of Mont St Quentin and Pèronne, and the breaching of German defences at the Hindenburg Line in September. By early October the exhausted Australians were withdrawn from battle. They had achieved a fighting reputation out of proportion to their numbers, but victory had come at a heavy cost. They suffered almost 48,000 casualties during 1918, including more than 12,000 dead. In the four years of the war more than 330,000 Australians had served overseas, and more than 60,000 of them had died. The social effects of these losses cast a long shadow over the postwar decades. Each year on this day Australians observe one minutes silence at 11am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. See more

07.01.2022 Hello Pet Families :) It has come to my attention today that there is a website named Bryte Puppies trying to use brytepets.com, they have a gmail account named Bryte pets and the welcome page contains 'welcome to Bryte pets' I will post a picture of the site in the comments. Please know that the real Bryte Pets do not sell animals of any kind and we wish to plead with people not to buy any animal from a website ! As far as puppies our official advice is to either contact y...our local rescue or your states Registered Breeder society such as Dogs West in Western Australia. With the puppy laws that are in affect in Australia I doubt the authenticity of any website selling puppies. With the amount of effort and cost that registered breeders must put in to remain registered it may not be guaranteed that you receive a perfect puppy,but 99% of breeders are guaranteed to be breeding for Love not money ! So if rescue does not appeal to you please contact a Registered Breeder for the next member to your 'Furry, scaled or feathered Family' . 01.01.2022 URGENT CAT ITEMS NEEDED! I am collecting donations on behalf of Perth Rescue Angels. With breeding season upon us we are beyond full, which means we NEED donations to help take some of the costs down for our amazing foster carers. Some items that can come in handy include but arent limited to: Cats -... * Babycat RC wet and dry food * Kitten / Cat wet and dry food of any kind * Bowls, Beds and Litter trays * Cat carriers and crates * LITTER of any kind, however breeders choice is best for young kittens. * Toys and Scratch posts / towers * Flea and worm treatment We dont often have dogs and only have a few at the moment, however we are more than happy to take donations of dog items to for the dogs we have in care and to pass on to other dog rescues that are in need: Dogs - * Dog food * Beds * Bowls * Leads, collars and harnesses * Flea and worm treatment * Training crates If you have any unwanted pet items laying around that you no longer need, or would like to purchase some items to donate please let me know and I can help organise a pick up/drop off location.
