22.01.2022 PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL: YAMAHA LIFEJACKET Manually inflated Red Sold from January to June 2018 Potentially affected batch number: 131017... The lifejackets may have had the canister removed and without the canister the lifejacket will not inflate when the toggle is pulled. In an emergency situation where you enter the water the lifejackets will not provide the required flotation. Note: The risks are less likely if owners know how to use the backup oral inflation tube that can help to inflate the lifejacket. Return your lifejacket to the place of purchase for a replacement product. Yamaha Motor Australia Phone: 1300593600 email: [email protected]

22.01.2022 Something common and something unexpected. Inflatables never been tested from purchase. mfg 1--2009. Picture 2 is leaking oral tube valve and corroded Co2. Picture 3 no Oral tube valve. And yes these have both came off the same boat because they are going to the coast fishing in a week.

21.01.2022 This fault can only be found it you test your Inflatable correctly

18.01.2022 When conducting a service on your inflatable pfd. have a look at the SOLAS tape for damage. picture 1 looks like no damage. But if you take a photo with your flash on your phone you can see the damage and how ineffective this is at night.

18.01.2022 This is a copy of a well known brand of mechanism, the seals are not made from the same compound. And this is what happens to the seals after 3--5 years. They just fall apart. Note, the seals are there so the Co2 gas inflates the bladder.

16.01.2022 In for testing this morning. Mfg 2013 and 2014. Never been tested before. two out the three have holes. The third is losing pressure as well. This extended self testing by the public is not working.

14.01.2022 This Lifejacket is a Vest type combination of inbuilt buoyancy and Co2 inflation which makes it a larger than normal Lifejacket. It failed the pressure test, I found it hard to find this fault because of its bulk. This is one year old.

11.01.2022 Manufacturing fault at the bladder weld to the mechanism post. This is 1 year old. First time tested.

07.01.2022 A gent just came in with his 2 Inflatable pfd's, both manufactured in 2006. Both never tested before and one didn't have a gas bottle in it. This is just nuts how people don't care about their safety gear and the safety of themselves.

06.01.2022 Manufactured 3--2016 and the first time tested.

05.01.2022 Lifejacket product recall

04.01.2022 The nut that holds the mechanism on and seals the gas from escaping has been removed. Self servicing at its best. And yet we still have Maritime bodies educating people on self servicing. This industry needs a good shake up.

03.01.2022 Never been tested. Mfg 2016. The bottle isn't in place so it wasn't going to work.
