25.01.2022 I GAVE A WORKSHOP .... On the weekend on how to grow a successful alpaca business in Bundaberg. In writing my notes I found this pop up on the internet ... and it is really the truth about being successful at anything. Take it from someone that has built and run several businesses since the age of 20.

25.01.2022 SOME NEW THINGS COMING TO ..... Pfeiffer Park soon! Wait, watch and see what direction we are going into, as we retire from breeding alpacas.

22.01.2022 Previously an alpaca farm, set up to continue that way, or other livestock.

22.01.2022 DAMs ARE FULL ..... 156mm in the rain gauge over 24hours! Plus 6 small frogs!

22.01.2022 SHORN ALPACAS ..... Only 13 left on farm, and only 3 left to sell! Before Christmas I should be down to the two I intend to keep as pets only.

21.01.2022 LOOKS LIKE WE PICKED THE WRONG TIME .... To feed the alpacas! It has been raining all day. For the past 30mins it slowed down to a sprinkle .... so off we went, then BANG - pouring! Oh well, the grass will love it! Now we will dry up by the fire.

18.01.2022 MALES FOR SALE .... Pets These boys all did very well in the show ring, but the owner is leaving the industry and wants to sell her remaining stock off. So these boys are currently together in a paddock and are the best of friends. They can be sold as a group, or separately as pairs. ... Being sold at the reduced price of $550each.

18.01.2022 WELCOME .... Our newest staff member, Esther. Esther joined us 4 weeks ago now and has been a great asset to the farm since day one. Always fun to work with, and doing a great job as she eagerly learns our industry. Welcome aboard Esther.

17.01.2022 VET DAY .... Use to be once a month when we had 300 alpacas, now it is just as needed! Today the vet had to do: - Horses: Annual Hendra and 2in1 vaccines - Dogs: Annual vaccines, and the old her had a check-up and went onto arthritis medication.... - Alpacas: 2 x castrations, 2 x stud certifications, 1 x pregnancy ultrasound So today will be our last alpaca vet visit, the next will be to do with our new venture .... which we will announce soon!

16.01.2022 I have four on the farm, and another two that visit once a week!

16.01.2022 HER FAVOURITE JOB .... Is rounding up the livestock and moving them on! I try to take Cleo for a walk each day at lunchtime for exercise - as we are retiring from the industry, she doesn't get as much work. She so wants to round them every time we walk near them. I forced her to stop it today day, and as we passed them, they ran after her and chased her out of the paddock gate!!!!! How the table turns!

16.01.2022 A friend is selling their farm property in the Capricorn Coast area ..... these properties don't come up very often, so sharing in case there is someone out there looking.

15.01.2022 IT HAS BEEN AN EXCITING WEEK .... On the farm. We welcomed another pup to the group - now five dogs on farm! This little black fluff ball is MAVERICK. He is a black German Shepherd and belong to my daughter - but I get to look after him when she is not around!... I love puppies!

12.01.2022 HAVING TROUBLE GETTING A SHEARER .... in 2020? Mike Snow - our usual shearer is in Qld now. He is from Victoria, but agriculture is deemed essential so only had to quaratine in NSW for two weeks before starting his shearing season here this year. If you need a shearer, cause your usual can't make it - contact him on 0418 516 896 asap.

11.01.2022 SHEARING 2020 .... Is over! Local shearers all help each other through there shearing here. Unfortunately, I was sick and unable to help two farms yesterday. Today was my farm with only 13 animals - down from 300 thanks to retiring from the industry! Then over to a mates farm where we did 36.

10.01.2022 ANOTHER DOZEN COWS ..... Join the other 20 agisted on the farm. This lot of steers are very friendly and like a chat and a scratch, not like the other 20 that are terrified of me! They are in the quarantine yards for a week or so, then they will join the others in the large paddock.

09.01.2022 FEMALES FOR SALE .... Pets These girls are lovely, halter trained and will make great pets - they have not grown out to the full adult size, so therefore they are not right for the breeding side of our industry. The owner is leaving the industry and is therefore offering them at a reduced price of $550each... UPDATE: SOLD

08.01.2022 FEMALE FOR SALE .... Pet This girl is for sale as a pet. We tried to get her pregnant last year and she wouldn't fall when she was 3 years of age. The owner is leaving the industry and is therefore offering her at at a reduced price of $550
