25.01.2022 Look who’s back The Knit and Natter ladies of Moyneyana House are sharing their skills and love again this winter with a selection of bespoke, bright, long, cosy scarves coming soon Festival friends and Moyneyana carers Robbie Lee and Oriel Glennen work with residents alongside other amazing colleagues Moyne Health Services. Oriel sent these beautiful images and words: ‘The group meets on Tuesday morning and have been knitting madly. Always a cup of tea, Family Assor...ted biscuits and lots of conversation about what’s going on in the ‘outside world’. Their resilience, wisdom, acceptance and genuine need to give back always amazes me and gives me such a sense of hope. They’ve been through so much more than we have and they have great capacity to see through the chaos to the heart of humanity. I am so fortunate to spend this time of my life in the presence of our elders.’ Stay tuned for details on when and how to purchase. All money goes back to the knitters behind the woolly wonders, made with Australian wool from @bendigowoollenmills And thanks to everyone at Moyne Health for the amazing work you do in looking after all members of our community. #portfairy #knitandnatter #woollylove #moynehealth #pfwwfestival #knitting #bendigowoollenmills #thatsacosylongscarf

17.01.2022 I cast the stone so very far The ripple awakens the echo deep Sliding butterfly wings without dust The silence loud mind to shriek Are you there listen did you hear it ... The whisper upon the shoulder I speak Listen did you hear it that noise that yearns from darkened depth Pushed aside to stars clouds the highest peak Listen did you hear it upon the rippled layers Coveted worn and torn That whisper that haunting sound The gaze across the shattered ground Lapses in wonder to fund my surrender Perils of madness the freedom and splendour Racing away the whisper to speak What will it be When will the softened brow render The fragile masks that thought not seen Now plenty go around all to be seen The treachery of reasoning begins again That viscous non sensible sound A must a need I want you can’t The arrow in deep final strength to keep Shhh did you hear that did you hear it the whisper Dark recesses wisdoms on rhymes A view to the inner no escape now to be found I return to the pond to bring back that stone Ripples and waves of depth I shall remain alone Shh did you hear it The whisper . Thank you, secret poet for this wonderful piece. We are moved by the creative souls around us. We’re still receiving poetry if you’d like to pen a poem. Visit the website and submit there. 09.01.2022 It’s not like you’ve never been alone Or set adrift, or without home It’s not even something new, this ache That rawness has a constant space ... But the line between us may grow slack If showing love means stepping back So we must find new ways to be That bring us warmth and company And hope for days when hand to face Is a gesture small, and a gesture safe. . Thank you, anonymous poet for this timely reminder to work on ways to find warmth and company. These transportative views from above by @charlie.allen.photography thank you Charlie #portfairy #pfwwfestival #pandemicpoetry #verse #writeapoemfeelbetter #anonymouspoets

05.01.2022 Wouldn’t it be a great thing to know the Aboriginal names, the original names, of the places we all love in this beautiful part of the world? And we could share this ancient language with people who visit here. Peek Whuurrong is one of 12 dialects within the six tribes of the Eastern Maar country, on which Port Fairy exists. Learn a little more about the true history of this country in a short feature film, by @mitchellwithersfilm we’re sharing this week. #peekwhuurrong #easternmaar #gunditjmara #deanmaar #yambuk #ngatanwarr #pfww #portfairy
