20.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to FACPI for a well-attended GATSBY NIGHT of dancing to a live band, dressing-up, and catching up with Seniors and not-so-Seniors.

20.01.2022 At 12:01am tonight, travellers to Western Australia from interstate will no longer need to meet an exemption category, however they will be required to meet a n...umber of conditions to enter our State. Failure to adhere to those conditions or providing false information upon entry to Western Australia will result in fines of up to $50,000 or even jail time. Tonight, the G2G Pass system will change over to the new declaration system. Travellers to Western Australia will need to complete a declaration stipulating they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms. They will also need to declare they haven’t travelled to New South Wales or Victoria OR they haven’t knowingly come into contact with someone from those jurisdictions in the past 14 days. Once interstate travellers arrive at the airport, they will be processed, undergoing a health screening and temperature test. All travellers should be prepared to take a COVID-19 test at our newly established Perth Airport COVID Clinics, if deemed necessary by a health clinician. Travellers coming from New South Wales or Victoria, or who have been in close contact with someone from those States, will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days in a suitable premise. In addition, they will also need to take a COVID-19 test on Day 11, before they can come out of quarantine. We know these ongoing controls won't be convenient. There will be delays at the airport. The process may be frustrating for many people. But if you are coming to WA, we ask for your patience and understanding. These controls are in place to protect everyone, including your friends and family here in WA - and they are all in place based on our expert health advice.

05.01.2022 Ricafrente bags inaugural Perth Pinoy Tennis Open By NEIL BRAVO Jay-r Ricafrente cemented himself a place in the club history of Pinoy Perth Tennis Club after c...apturing the first ever Pinoy Perth Tennis Open title on Sunday, October 25, at the Bayview Geographe Resort Tennis Center in Busselton. Playing on grasscourt surface, Ricafrente neutralized Junly Jerez's aggressive net game with pin-point baseline forays mostly to the backhand side to win the singles title 8-4 in an exciting climax to the two-day netfest which served also as a tennis holiday for the Perth-based club. With Jerez retreating to a defensive mode throughout the match, Ricafrente relied on his steady baseline game to keep his rival at bay. Ricafrente's kick serves also gave him wide leverage and in the process gave up only one serve. The march to the title for Ricafrente was a rather breezy ride as he gave up only two games on the way to booking a finals ticket via a masterful 8-2 conquest of Rey Nuñez in the semis and an 8-0 shellacking of Paolo Molina in the round of eight. Jerez reached the championship after beating JC Sayasa in the other semifinals with the same scoreline and Marvin "Nadal" Akip 8-1 in the quarterfinals. Sharing the limelight with Ricafrente are Stefer Yap and club organizer-administrator Akip who took the doubles title earlier on Saturday. The Yap-Akip duo turned back the hard-fighting tandem of Ricafrente and Paolo Molina in the finals 8-6. Yap and Akip wore down the pair of Regan de Ocampo and Bernard Cabrera 8-4 to advance to the finals while Ricafrente and Molina survived Jerez and Edgar Geronimo 8-6 in the other doubles semis tussle. Pinoy Perth Tenis Club was formed this year and has since grown to 16 active members. The club plays regularly at Gosnells Tennis Club and Jandakot Hall in Cockburn Central. #pinoynewsperth #pinoylifeperth #perthisok

05.01.2022 To our dear Pinoys in Perth. Let’s make our Christmas more meaningful especially in this challenging times. Save the date and help save lives. 27 December, Sun...day @ Swan Italian Sporting Club, Perth May we be reminded that Christ Jesus is the main reason for this holiday season. Watch out for more information leading up to this fantastic concert for a cause. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 04.01.2022 As of this morning, after 222 days, Western Australia’s hard border arrangements are no longer in place. We have now cautiously and safely transitioned to our c...ontrolled interstate border regime, which are still strict and unprecedented controls that will continue to protect us all. While the hard border has played a crucial role in keeping our State safe and stopping the spread of COVID-19, I know that it has been very difficult for many WA families. I understand how hard it has been to be separated from your loved ones - I wish I could have seen my elderly parents who live in New South Wales. But to anyone who has been in this situation, I’d just like to say this: I couldn’t be more proud of how WA has responded to this incredibly difficult year. When we look back at this unprecedented time in our lives, you can all reflect on the role you played to protect our State, our friends, our neighbours and our livelihoods. Everyone has had to make sacrifices, and some have had to sacrifice more than others. Ultimately though, those sacrifices made Western Australia the envy of the world and put our State in an incredible position for the future. In the coming weeks, thousands of WA families will finally be reunited. I also know that some of you may not be able to travel across at this stage, particularly if you are unable to quarantine for the required time for travellers from NSW or Victoria. Like all of you, I’m hopeful that the rapidly improving situations in those States may well mean that we’re able to provide more good news for those families in the near future. But I will also say this: Whatever decisions we make from here, as with all decisions we’ve made to this point, will only be made in line with the expert health advice. If that means reimposing hard border restrictions, I will not hesitate to take that step. We won’t let our guard down we just can’t afford to become complacent.

03.01.2022 PRESS RELEASE 29 December 2020 BI to implement extension of travel ban amid new COVID-19 strain... The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has announced on Tuesday the restriction of passengers from 20 countries as an additional measure to limit the spread of the reported new variant of the COVID-19 virus. According to BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, the travel restriction was a result of an order from Malacanang extending the travel ban from those coming from the United Kingdom, as well as expanding the scope to include 19 other countries. It can be recalled that flights from the UK have been suspended since December 24. Said suspension has been extended until January 15, 2021. Consequently, passengers coming from the said country, as well as those who have been there 14 days prior, are temporarily barred from entry to the Philippines. Said suspension, the BI said, included transiting passengers. "The latest order from Malacanang expands this to 19 other countries," said Morente. "Effective midnight of December 30 to January 15, foreigners coming from and transiting through the 19 countries, as well as those who traveled there 14 days prior, will also not be allowed entry," he stated. The list includes Denmark, Ireland, Japan, Australia, Israel, The Netherlands, Hong Kong SAR, Switzerland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Lebanon, Singapore, Sweden, South Korea, South Africa, Canada, and Spain. Morente further discussed that passengers who are already in transit and are arriving before December 30 at 12:01AM from the 19 areas specified, including those passengers who have been in said countries within 14 days immediately preceding their arrival in the Philippines, shall be referred to the port's one stop shop to undergo RT-PCR testing and an absolute facility-based 14-day quarantine period. Outbound travel, according to the BI, remains subject to existing protocols of both the Philippines and the destination country. The move to implement restrictions followed after the new strain of virus that was first discovered in the United Kingdom has been reported to be more contagious than other COVID-19 variants. #BeatCOVID19 #WeHealAsOne
