25.01.2022 On 3 December, former Frenh president Valéry Giscard d'Estaing died aged 94. Paul Bocuse created the world famous Truffle Soup on the occasion of Chef Bocuse receiving the Legion of Honor from President d’Estaing on February 25, 1975 at the Élysée Palace. This is a photo of Chef Bocuse being decorated with the medal by d’Estaing. The soup has been served at Paul Bocuse restaurants and also at our restaurant on special occasions, the last time during the truffle season earlier this year. Vale VGE.

The soup was born in 1975 February 25, when French president Valery Giscard D’Estaing promoted Paul Bocuse to Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur (the highest decoration in France).
