17.01.2022 A view up the valley from Hesperia vineyard where our chardonnay is grown above Tumbarumba in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales. This high cool location is why our Hesperia chardonnay has so much elegance and flavour. And no histamines which means you can enjoy it with no sinus effect and no aftermath except the delight of sheer joy!

16.01.2022 Something to think about. The same people who brought you legal opiates in a TGA approved pill and Phthalates in soft plastic (cancer) caution against drinking 2 or more of this elixir of the gods. Are the same crazy puritans, weirdos and criminals who were thrown out of every country in Europe now called USA still calling the rules in the madhouse? The French laugh the Italians snort and the Spanish get those crazies to pay for their wine

16.01.2022 AURA ros was perfect for Cup Day lunch at Mach2 degustation Italiano and our friends almost got the trifecta! oh well so it was our Chantemerles pinot noir from Burgundy not #Connorwinedog had to cool exuberant racing passion in chariot outside with a raw chicken wing as compensation

14.01.2022 2 assumptions/misconceptions about our brains which PHILIPS FROLIC is pleased to dismiss with a glass of cool climate Tumbarumba chardonnay followed by a glass of super premium Canyonleigh shiraz * There are many more than only 5 senses! We are taught about the five senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. But neuroscientists list up to 21 ways of sensing things. For example, touch is actually an amalgamation of a few different senses. We have the perception o...f pressure, heat, and pain called nociception. Proprioception is a sense of where our bodies are and the position we are in like when we walk along a line touching our nose as a test for sobriety. There are also some interoceptive senses which are balance, hunger and thirst. Tasting wine is a wonderful combination if many senses not least flavour, aroma, terpene-endocannabinoid-stimulation, enlivened dopamine, imagination and joy! * Now proven wrong by science: Drinking alcohol kills your brain cells Too much alcohol can make us slur and fall around, so its not an uncommon assumption that it hurts our brain cells. However, the amount of alcohol required to kill brain cells would actually poison the person drinking it. Enjoying good wine in good quantity can not harm your brain. Consistently too much strong alcohol may cause brain damage though, but thats because it can damage the ends of neurons, called dendrites, which makes it harder for them to send messages between one another.

14.01.2022 NO PLASTIC POLLUTION! You all know by now that plastic will not decompose or recycle and is poisonous and cancerous. No surprise CANCER popped up when plastic food packaging came along. Easy: buy no food, no groceries, no drink, in plastic packs, bags, punnets, bottles AND skip takeaway coffee...Continue reading

07.01.2022 We lost our Hesperia vineyard to bushfires last Thursday. The dreadful story is on my personal Facebook Phil Madden with an eyewitness account of the horror by Councillor Vanessa Keenan, step-daughter of David Lyons, who was with family on the farm when the bushfire blazed up the Valley in a moment. Everyone on the vineyard survived the towering inferno in the firebunker, two residences were saved by their fire sprinkler systems invented by David Lyons. Animals were not as fortunate. Our 2018 Hesperia Chardonnay and Hesperia pinot noir are gold medal winning collectors items, 2019 vintage is safe in the barrels. There will be no 2020 vintage. Have a look at the charred remains...

06.01.2022 What is resveratrol? The wonderdrug that the Pharmacy Giants have not been able to suppress. It is in all wines but abundent in red wines: it prevents Altzheimers, Parkinsons, motor-neurone diseases, strokes, heart attacks and promotes good health. It is one reason for the French Paradox. Eat as much rich food, cheese and foie gras as you wish to wash down with wine and you will not get heart disease and you will live to a happy ripe old age. Salut!

"Pale translucent pink a pinot meunier... and its crisp, incisive varietal character stands out like a beacon: super-spicy, super-dry and super-long in the finish and aftertaste." This is what Robert Geddes Master of Wine says about Canyonleigh Shiraz 2011 vintage in his world famous Gold Book of Austraian Wine!... "Medium body with good front and middle palate concentration Pepper, raspberry, dark chocolate with vanilla oak in the background Pepper and cedar aromatic nose Silky entry, food friendly particularly with alfresco dining, a barbequed lamb chop or steak with salad, and goes well with Japanese and Chinese cuisine." Lieu Dieu Chardonnay vintage 2014 from Burgundy Tasting Notes by Robert Geddes MW of the Gold Book: "This bottle of Burgundy from a great white vintage and a subregion known for good value whites is an ideal choice as the weather warms and your mind turns to sea food and summer festivities. Proclaims its Burgundian origins with an aroma full of funky subtle notes, oak flint, wild yeast off setting clean ripe stone fruit. The fruit flows on in the mouth with a silky texture, medium bodied with up front white fruit, subtle mineral spice, spring flower fruit, appealing minerality in the middle palate flavour and savoury drying texture ideal for summer weather. Dont chill too hard."

02.01.2022 University of California - Irvine study started in 2003, The 90+ Study examined 1,600 participants of the oldest-old age group, to determine the key factors to living to 90 years of age and beyond. The study is one of the worlds largest examinations of the age group, which is also the fastest-growing in the U.S., the publishers of the study claim.
