The Shakespeare texts include teaching texts like Experiencing Shakespeare and Playing with Shakespeare, texts to help students understand the plot and characters, How to Dazzle at: Macbeth for instance. Workshop approaches, Shorter Shakespeare - abridged versions that are student-friendly and plays about the life and times of Shakespeare - Cheapside and Men of Honour. So go have a closer look and don't just stock your shelves but use in the classroom.

16.01.2022 School groups welcome. The conceit: That the native tortoises of the Gallipoli peninsula picked up by soldiers as mascots and pets and carried back to Australia, New Zealand and England in army kitbags. Several outlived their owners by decades and some of them are still alive today. The play: The star of Justin Fleming's latest play, Shellshock, is one such survivor, a tortoise named Herman, who, during the Anzac centenary celebrations, finds himself once again at the centre... of a conflict. The crew and cast: Directed by Wayne Harrison and featuring a score by Joseph Tawadros, Shellshock co-stars Sandy Gore, Francesca Savige, Yalin Ozucelik and Benson Jack Anthony. Herman will be played by an animatronic model. Real tortoises are difficult to train for the stage says Harrison with a grin. Where and when: Shellshock runs from July 30 to August 8 at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta. School groups welcome. See more

10.01.2022 Verity Davidson, Head of Performing Arts, Baradene College wrote of Drama Cuts published by Phoenix Education Pty. Ltd. "I was excited with the possibilities for teaching. Some plays will be familiar to Drama and English teachers (The Pohutakawa Tree, An Inspector Calls, Summer of the Seventeenth Doll, Top Girls) but Battye has not stopped at the tried and true. She has sourced plays from Canada, Africa, India, Malaysia, India and St Lucia too. This book reflects an excellent cross-section of dramatic literature from the English Commonwealth." 06.01.2022 We have just published the latest play by Richard Baines: The Beggar of Uttar Pradesh. The Beggar of Uttar Pradesh is a play which tells the comic story of the beggar Harisarman, who manages to get rich by sheer good luck! The Beggar of Uttar Pradesh keeps faith with the Bollywood tradition. There are three major song-and-dance routines. There is also a solo dance sequence. Being a melodrama The Beggar of Uttar Pradesh contains a dramatic reversal of fortune and several conve...nient coincidences. It is a comedy which also delivers a nasty villain, an unlikely hero, a love affair, a happy ending and a contented cow. What else could one want? Richard’s other plays are The Black-bearded Bai and other plays from Asian folk lore The Girl who ran with Gazelles and other plays from Arab and Persian folk lore Working Title a play to introduyce students to a range of tryes of theatre and traditions. The Play on Bill series plays ‘loosely’ based on a Shakespeare play to introduce students to some of Shakespeare’s plays and characters. The Unauthorised Classics plays based on some of the great classics such as Antigone, The Causcasian Chalk Circle, and Le Medecin Malgre Lui. More details on www.phoenixeduc.com website.
