24.01.2022 A few 'almost finished's today. Made this round coffee table with a coastal or lime wash finish. It took a lot of time to get the old one off due to having been glued and stapled! 14.01.2022 My current project is a refurbishment of a 21 year old chest of drawers for a baby's room. I know how old it is as it is dated. The drawer fronts have been removed, sanded and primed. I have removed all the drawer runner hardware and I have actually numbered them so they go back on in the right place. 14.01.2022 Almost finished this incredibly heavy reproduction buffet. Having used Dixie Belle Silk it doesn't need a protective coat but I am going to wax it anyway. 13.01.2022 Another wonderful Australian made paint @artisanpaintcompany This is Olive Leaf chalk paint and can you guess which drawer has been waxed with their soft furniture wax, yet to be buffed. The wax brings out the depth of colour, adds a protective layer and smells amazing. 12.01.2022 I finished this stunning small retro drawer set last night by lining the drawers. Although the Dixie Belle Silk paint I used didn't need sealing I still waxed it with a clear Artisan wax because it smells so good!! 11.01.2022 I have one more day off work so every hour counts. I needed to strip the paint off these drawer knobs, and not wanting to mess around with stripper or sanding, I figured I would try what works with metal. Boiled some water in an old saucepan, added baking soda and within less than a minute the paint started coming off! Whipped them out and used some steel wool under a running tap to get the last little bits off and they are now completely paint free. This will save me so much time in future. 04.01.2022 I have had an old metal chair frame hidden in my stash for over a year I think. Gave it a sand over to get the loose paint off and repainted with Dulux metal paint.
