25.01.2022 I have had many conversations with parents about playing games with their kids. I remember when my son was 10, and the school counsellor rang me and said to me, Mel, he just wants you to spend time playing Minecraft with him. Tears rolled down my face as I though about what a lousy parent I was for not taking an interest in my son’s favourite things to do. So I did it. I learnt how to play Minecraft, and whilst we don’t play it as often now that’s he is 16 and I work too mu...ch , over the holidays we spent some time exploring and being in the Nether (which of course terrifies me and I won’t let him play with the mobs on ). He has taught me how to play Stardew Valley, which we played over the summer, and when he was showing me his Animal Crossing land one morning, I fell asleep next to him in him bed (obviously in need of a morning nap ). The latest one is called Untitled Goose Game. This is hilarious. You play a goose wreaking havoc on a village, honking at people and stealing their stuff. It’s recently become a two player game, and tonight I was initiated in to playing, with incredible results. My boy is 16, I possibly don’t have much longer before he won’t want to hang out with me, or spend time with me. Play the games with your kids. How different is this to how we used to play monopoly or scrabble with your parents? And how many more fun games are there available now? UNO is a cheap and easy game to play, even with younger kids. I know it can be exhausting after a long day... but believe me when I say, even a round or two of cards after dinner can be something that make a massive difference to your family dynamics. What games do you play with your kids?

24.01.2022 It’s the small things in life that mean #selfcare in #selfcareseptember. Today I slept in, and chilled out, reading. I did a grocery list and let my son (who is on his learners) drive me to Aldi and Coles to do groceries, then we came home and did food prep for the week together and cooked some yummy dinner. Lastly, we sat on the couch and watched another episode of our current favourite show, Good bones. Now it’s time for an early night as I gear up to my last week of work before leave. What did you do for your self care today?

23.01.2022 #selfcareseptember is taking care of your needs... having had a migraine today, I spent some quality time resting with the furbabies, then indulged in a hot coconut milk and rose bath with some geranium oil and ylang ylang oil, finally cooking up some dinner, including some extra to freeze for those nights I am either alone or am too tired to cook... What have you done for your #selfcare today? Don’t forget to like, comment, share, and tag your friends in any of our self care September posts to go in the draw for one of our amazing prizes, including the $400 Circa 1928 voucher

18.01.2022 If you feel like you can’t function at full capacity right now, there are very good reasons why. Inspired by my dear friend Amy, whose conversation with me on this topic made me say Ohhhhhh. I guess I should stop beating myself up, then. (I haven’t, but I am trying.)

18.01.2022 I’ve decided to run #selfcareseptember for an extra week, until I’m back at work on the 12th! Today we celebrated my dad’s birthday with a bonfire (and a delicious raspberry and white chocolate mud cake made by me! I love baking but don’t make time for it enough!) It was a great night, spent with family and pets, and even some toasted marshmallows... and clearing some old paperwork that I don’t need anymore What have you done for your #selfcare today? ... You can keep sharing our self care September posts until October 12, when we will tally everyone’s names that have liked, commented, shared, and tagged their friends to win one of our awesome prizes... I still have at least 3 more to announce this week, so keep on doing it! Especially if you want that $400 Circa 1928 voucher

14.01.2022 In today's society, it's a common occurrence to say yes to requests, when what we really want to say is 'no'. Learning to say no can be empowering and quite liberating....just think, if you said no more, what COULD you be saying yes to? Allow the possibilities to inspire your 'no'. Our latest blog "Learning to say NO in November" is now on our website. Please, take some time out of your day and click on the below link and read about some of the benefits of say 'no'. https://www.phoenixwingswellness.com.au//saying-no-in-nove

12.01.2022 Today is the start of #selfcareseptember - it’s important to take some time out of your day to do something for yourself. Aim for five things a day....it could be anything from enjoying your first cup of coffee, taking your dog for a walk, relaxing in a bath, starting that book you’ve been meaning to read - the possibilities are endless. Take some time to stop and reconnect with yourself. What five things will you aim for?

02.01.2022 A lovely start to my time off today as part of #selfcareseptember I’ve been attending here since Circa 1928 opened last year in July, every three months during my leave to help me feel rejuvenated and refreshed. Ririn, Kevin, and the staff are just incredible, and take very good care of you. I purchased a $200 voucher to give away, and very generously, Ririn contributed another $200, so now I have a $400 voucher to give away at the end of September... So what did you do fo...r your #selfcare today?
