20.01.2022 Is your school participating in #RideSafelytoSchoolWeek this week? The week encourages children, parents and school communities to use #activetravel to and from school. Riding and walking are a great way to receive the recommended 60 minutes exercise each day and it will help to reduce congestion and improve safety in school environments.

08.01.2022 Today’s the final day of #RideSafelytoSchoolWeek! Thank you to all that got involved and rode to school this week. But that doesn’t mean you should stop your active travel to school! Encourage your students to continue riding and walking to school with initiatives such as bike clubs or weekly healthy breakfasts for riders and walkers. Make sure you tag us (@PhysicalActivityFoundation) in your school’s photo and use the hashtag #RideSafelytoSchoolWeek. With thanks to our wonderful partners: ACT Government , Transport Canberra, Icon Water Trek Bicycle , Coordinate , Moulis Legal, Fyshwick Fresh Food Markets and University of Canberra .

03.01.2022 Don’t let the forecast rain stop you from riding to school this #RideSafelytoSchoolWeek. Here are some safety tips for riding in the rain: Riding through puddles can be fun but be extra careful when you are riding through larger puddles, your wheel grip may be reduced in the rain and you do not know how deep the puddle may be. Visibility is often reduced in the rain. Making it harder for cars to see you and you to see hazards. ... Make sure you leave more braking time when approaching corners in the rain. Rain may make it harder for other path users to hear you coming, ring your bell louder or a few more times more than normal. Slow down, take care and be alert!
