19.01.2022 What is GH + Pb? ~ We use this little ruler to take this measurement. We measure from urethera to anus. It allows us to understand the length of your pelvic floor. . . Generally speaking, the longer it is the less supportive for the organs above. Or at least that is what the research is telling us. If it is in fact too long, then we try and shorten it by doing pelvic floor exercise if and where possible. @physioclinic_womenshealth

17.01.2022 Welcome to the team Gen Fleeton! We are very excited to have Gen join our team. Gen will be working across our Caringbah and Bondi Junction Clinics. . . Gen has had the opportunity to work with some amazing Physio’s throughout her career so far and loves working in part of a team. Gen is a musculoskeletal and women’s health physio. We look forward to working with Gen and her looking after our patients!

10.01.2022 Inter-recti distance ~ Measured under Real Time Ultrasound. It is a skill. A great skill. A helpful assessment tool and outcome measure. Thanks to @dianeleept and #paulhodges research, we understand the concept of Tension and how it relates to inter-recti distance. . . Did you know under Real Time Ultrasound if we see the inter-recti distance stay the same or get slightly wider during a task, we can be almost certain transversus abdominus is doing its job, and creating tension on the linea alba before the task is executed. @physioclinic_education

05.01.2022 Too True! A good point to bear in mind when considering the prevalence of certain conditions. Thanks Dr. Jason Abbott. @physioclinic_education

03.01.2022 This is a bladder ~ The arrow is pointing to the bladder neck. In some cases of leaking, the bladder neck rotates downwards with an increase in pressure from above, such as when you cough or sneeze. . . If this is happening, then it is called uretheral hypermobility. We can visualise if this is the case in your body using transperineal ultrasound in the clinic. If it is indeed happening then we can start to figure out ways to help stop it. @physiotherapyclinic_womenshealth

02.01.2022 Are you a women’s health physio ready to take the leap? Most of us hit a time where we feel ready to leap into something more. Broaden our knowledge, enhance our skills & fine tune our clinical reasoning. If this is you, you might find our Mentor Program helpful. More details on our website.
