25.01.2022 Obviously it's Australia Day! These guys were lined up by the pool this morning all waiting to have a dip, then drying off and flying away laughing. Never seen them before - and certainly have never seen them having a bath. Happy Australia Day, folks!

23.01.2022 Our new range of Tucketts socks has arrived all the way from the USA ( they have been in quarantine of course). Treat yourself to some new socks for Xmas. These toeless socks are so much cooler for the summer months, and you get to show off your annual pedicure! Fab colours will put a spring into your Pilates practice.

23.01.2022 Heads up, everyone. My personal Facebook/Messenger has been hacked. Do not open any video links from my account. Nasty, bored people out there! Hope no one got trapped. Michelle

18.01.2022 Found this little bay ringtail possum this morning on the road in Noosa Springs. No sign of Mum and had some minor injuries. Now in the safe hands of WIRES on Eumundi RD. Fingers crossed she pulls through. #local wildlife#wireswildliferescue#noosasprings

13.01.2022 Some well- deserved (we think) pampering for the team after a challenging year. The beautiful girls at Stephanie's Spa treated us like princesses and ensured we all looked 10 years younger (???). I think our new team members Simone and Bridget have fitted in beautifully. So lucky to have this great group of ladies who love what they do and take pride in giving our clients the best of care. They make coming to work a joy.

13.01.2022 Flashback Friday! Liz, Val and Iva playing nicely together on the Cadillac in the old studio in 2012. Iva had to quit due to health issues, but Liz and Val are still going strong at 11 am Wednesdays. Great form, girls - we love having you as part of our Pilates family.

10.01.2022 One more week to go to get your bikini bodies ready! We are having a couple of weeks off from nagging you so we will all be refreshed and back in action in 2021. Hope you can find a space on the beach!

08.01.2022 Brisbane Lockdown. Although we are not directly affected by the lockdown, we ask our clients to be aware of the restrictions in effect from 5pm today. If anyone has been in Greater Brisbane since Mar 20th, they must follow the same rules as those living in Brisbane itself. That means that we ask you to not attend Pilates or Physio this week if you have been in Brisbane during the past 10 days. We are still open for business, of course (despite Simone having to stay away for the same reason). Belinda and I are still at work, so please check in to confirm your time. We would ask you to be aware of social distancing , hand sanitising, and waiting outside until the prior class leaves to avoid unnecessary congestion. Masks are available if you require. Stay safe, everyone.

04.01.2022 The masked crusaders in action. We are facing up to the challenges of the COVID rules! If you think an hour's pilates wearing a mask is difficult - try teaching pilates for 4 hours wearing a mask! You seem to have to use more words and speak a little louder - it is quite breathtaking. You realise that you really are full of hot air! At least we are doing our bit to stop the spread.

03.01.2022 Pilates - The feel-good exercise for EVERY Body! I have just read an article about the issue of What is a Pilates Body?’ I found a lot of thoughts that have been troubling me about the Pilates world of late. Most images of Pilates in social media are of thin, beautiful, able-bodied white females doing advanced, fancy’ Pilates exercises. This is scaring off potential pilates beginners, making them feel unwelcome, judged, and not part of the group. Joseph Pilates defined his... Method as the complete coordination of mind, body, and spirit. He prioritised optimal physical and mental health for a long and pleasurable life. We put far too much emphasis on looking good vs ‘feeling good. Having a body that works efficiently, without pain, should be the goal of every Pilates student. If you think that there is pressure on you as a pilates client to look a certain way, try being a Pilates teacher! In the words of the author Roxy Menzies: The expectation that every Pilates teacher has a flat stomach, slim thighs, ballerina-like posture, and be perfectly-toned but not overly muscular is missing the purpose of Pilates. Spending your working hours wearing lycra in a room of mirrors can be quite daunting. The reason we may have flat stomachs is from spending all day pulling our stomachs in! Nothing can help the thunder thighs, though, sadly! We endeavour to make you all feel accepted and unjudged in our studio. We get excited by seeing you get stronger, be able to enjoy life with less pain, and have fun and enjoy your hour with us and your teammates. See more

01.01.2022 The things they don't teach you about at Pilates school! Besides all that breathing, muscles, joints, exercises , cuing, injuries, sometimes you need to know where to look without embarasssment to your client or yourself. This issue was discussed at a recent staff meeting so we thought an information poster might be the best answer. Please do not take offence, anybody - I know it is difficult enough to remember your time, towel, and socks, let alone how your outfit stands up to "feet in straps"!
