19.01.2022 Pialba Members. Re; 2020 Pialba Classic Fours Carnival. As the Carnival Director of the Classic Fours held this past weekend, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all that contributed their time to make this event once again, so successful.... The contribution by all our volunteers wearing the club colours with pride showcasing our colours to the greater bowls community and with the live streaming that we introduced, showcasing our colours globally. The food presentation was enormous, no complaints, bowlers left our club saying we’ve been looked after food wise and bowls wise. What a wonderful effort by you all in the food presentation, serving of the food and making sure was Covid protected. The bar staff worked tirelessly to keep the tills turning over, excellent work. Raffle sellers, Calcutta sellers, those that worked outside picking up bottles/cans etc, to those that made sure that the bins were emptied, to the many that pulled out the shades, those that put up the flags, gazebos, to all that served meals, prepared the BBQs, picked up scorecards plus many other small or big jobs endured during the weekend. Can I say thank you, thank you, thank you. You are the ones that showcased this carnival to be one of the most talked about carnivals in our state. We had great sponsorship and have had for the past couple years. I will be seeking their support again for next year. The newly introduced Live Streaming of the carnival by the Gold Coast team has showcased our club to the world, wonderful comments have come back about the club and presentation of our surrounds and greens. We have rebooked them for next year as well. The support from the FCRC in sponsoring them was great and appreciated. The photos and presentation on our Facebook page is outstanding. Please members, this is a message of thanks to all for your supporting contribution in making this Carnival so successful. Both Alan Harris and myself are blessed to have such wonderful support by the club and members of Pialba Bowls Club. We will continue next year to have another wonderful carnival end of November 2021. Merry Christmas to one and all and let’s pray for a new 2021 Covid free year. God Bless and stay safe. John Walker

11.01.2022 This is a message I received this evening from a talented newer bowler, who is going to be an asset to our great club Was hoping someone could please post this message for me.... I would like to thank Mark Armstrong and Alan (TOAD) Pritchard for inviting me to roll up with them this afternoon..... I love playing bowls and learning. To get experience and bowl with great bowlers for me is what it's about. I jokingly said I felt it was like a master-class however they encouraged... me all the way. We laughed, completed set drills and I was never made to feel inadequate. Thanks guys for the opportunity and thanks Pialba bowls club... My club for supporting new bowlers... Cheers Mark Wilson Thanks for this Mark I have also had roll ups and games with Mark Wilson and it is really good when people like Mark listen to criticism and try and correct their faults. When I watch Mark play in games I see him use different things that we have spoken about when practicing . Mark you are going to make our club proud, just like Mark Armstrong & Alan (toad) Pritchard do. I believe, like Mark you learn something every time you bowl, if you don’t you are definitely doing something wrong.
