19.01.2022 Happy Easter I hope you are all safe and well. I have demonstrated some simple arm exercises whilst on a foam rolller. These can be done on your mat or whilst sitting upright in a chair. Remember to lengthen your spine. Focus on the breathe, inhaling as you open/expand your arms + ribs. Exhaling as you return. Take your time as you move to the rhythm of your own breathe. Keeping your shoulders relaxed as you freely move through this simple series of arm movements

15.01.2022 I was asked today why I practice and teach Pilates. Have I ever been into Yoga? Which do I prefer? I believe it comes down to the individual. I have practiced both. I love both disciplines for different reasons and believe they both have equal benefits. Yoga was part of my life before Pilates. Pilates came into my life after back surgery as part of my rehabilitation. Both principles traditionally teach the individual to connect the mind and the body. To take time to focus... and breathe. At this point in my life Yoga is my meditation and stretch time whilst Pilates is for strength, stability and rythm of the body in motion, not just for Core strength. During a class I encourage awareness of your body in motion through space, something we take for granted everyday until we sustain an injury that requires rehabilitation. I have included an article I read last year "Yoga v's Pilates". This article resonated with me as it had been a question I asked myself before I decided to train in Pilates. See more
