22.01.2022 Palm Sunday recalls Jesus' entry into Jerusalem at the beginning of the week that would end with his death. For many years peace marches were held in cities across the world on Palm Sunday. In recent decades in Australia these gatherings have focussed on supporting refugees and asylum seekers. This year a virtual event will be held. Check out http://www.refugeeadvocacynetwork.org.au for details.

07.01.2022 Reminders to act and pray for peace are never far away. On 6th August 1945 an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and three days later, on Nagasaki. These bombs caused untold human and environmental devastation. On this 75th anniversary we also remember the people who suffered from nuclear tests conducted at Maralinga and in the Pacific.

06.01.2022 Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Christian season of Lent. The traditional marking of ashes on a person's forehead reveals an internal posture of humility. From here we enter into a season of spiritual discipline as we prepare to hear the mysteries of the Easter story.

06.01.2022 On the third Sunday of Advent we lit the Candle of Joy. Advent Joy comes from our confidence that God is with us, that God loves us and that God is faithful. Joy can be present even in times of suffering of struggle. When have you known such joy?
