Bill Hilton is an awesome music educator, who has made a bunch of amazing tutorials covering music theory through the eyes of a pianist.... In this lesson. Bill is going to dive far deeper than just simple roman numeral analysis, so don’t feel bad if you start getting overwhelmed by jargon or concepts beyond your current skill level. Moving forward, I will be providing content that takes you through these ideas in a more bite-sized, digestible way for beginners and intermediate players. But there are a few reasons to give this video a go and perhaps stick with it for a while, even if you get lost. For starters, the best way to get better at your craft is to constantly affirm that there is in fact more to learn! The second reason is to clarify where you really are up to in your quest for understanding music theory. I chose this lesson to be our first step in a new direction for the academy, so most of you (even experienced players) can learn something new today!
