24.01.2022 The gorgeous Pinehill Cool Constable HSH. Growing into a tall and very trainable horse with a lot of promise. He’d suit Eventing, dressage, HRCAV and campdrafting/team penning. Registered ASHS by Yarrawa Cool Gunsmoke out of a TB mare. Mature around 16.1hh. Really flowing, ground-covering horse. $4400 inc GST. Price will rise when brought into work in spring.

24.01.2022 SOLD: Pinehill Eight Chimes (ASHS B2-252898), 14 yo TB mare by the great Australian Racing Hall of Famer and Cox Plate winner Octagonal. In foal to Pipersrun Captain Thunderbolt (244962) (Acres Destiny, Peter, Rivoli Ray) for spring foal.

22.01.2022 *warning re upsetting pics* A very sad day yesterday at Pine Hill. We lost a foal and nearly our lovely Lady Horse too. Lady was found by a visiting friend unexpectedly foaling (we had her scanned last year but the vet didn’t see a pregnancy- little filly must’ve been hiding!) and the foal was stuck. When I got there the foal was already dead and definitely not budging. The wonderful Andrew and Ellie from Wangaratta Equine were able to come out ASAP and got the little girl ...out. The problem was revealed once the foal was out - a congenital issue where one hind had gotten trapped up on the opposite stifle for some time and had essentially grown like that. (First pic) Lady was struggling with foaling paralysis from being down so long but miraculously had no internal tearing or haemorrhage. Even more impressive was her amazing recovery so far - up and TROTTING this morning. It’s not pretty but considering Andrew was not optimistic that she’d even be standing until tomorrow this is super. This girl has guts. What a great bunch of equine vets we have in our area. Lady will be fine and will hopefully go on to have a healthy foal for us in a couple of years! (Second pic is Lady standing last night)

22.01.2022 Creep weaning in action

19.01.2022 Jack has been a very busy lad over the last month. Out to clinics and training days then back home to sort out the ladies. A bit of a munch on the bestest lushest grass seems in order!

19.01.2022 Pinehill Cool Constable is being offered for sale in the Berragoon Stud Sale next January too. Our first foal, he is a ripper. By the lovely heritage Yarrawa Cool Gunsmoke from Madonna (half-brother to McIntyre), this guy is smooth. Super quiet and chilled, he’s now 4 and going well under saddle.

19.01.2022 Jacko giving a pony ride. These two get on very well! #beststallionever #Pipersruncaptainthunderbolt #ashs

17.01.2022 The resident guinea fowl. They’re definitely favourites in the poultry department (don’t tell the chooks!).

16.01.2022 Lot 12 Berragoon Production Sale - Pinehill Ellen HSH Only 6 weeks under saddle and got a great balance. She’s fun to ride with a good stop! Sire: Gamberlee Jaguar... Dam: Bimbimbee Cleo HSH See more

14.01.2022 Chopper going off to his new home this morning. These girls are delightful and will do really well with him. Bon voyage, big guy

13.01.2022 Took the gorgeous Pipersrun Captain Thunderbolt to his first clinic at the newly installed Equitation Science International facilitates down at Tuerong on the Mornington Peninsula. He turned a lot of heads and was a perfect gentleman. Manuela McLean was very complimentary of the little stockhorse (he was the only one - everything else seemed to be Friesan!)

13.01.2022 Jack giving Elena her first ride after a nasty fall a couple of years ago. She was really scared so the grin on her face says it all

12.01.2022 A beautiful dawn at Pine Hill this morning

12.01.2022 So excited our three babies are in this wonderful group of quality horses offered for sale. Check out the Pine Hill lots - Ellen is 12, McIntyre is 18 and Cool Constable is 30.

12.01.2022 Tongio Firelight HSH, loaned to us by ASH breeding veteran Ian Gibson, just got her PPT to our Jack for a September 2021 foal. Very excited!

11.01.2022 https://www.horsedeals.com.au//pipersrun-captain-thunderbo Our gorgeous boy is now listed in the 2020 Horse Deals Stallion directory!

09.01.2022 The Boys. From L to R: Mouse (Pinehill McIntyre - 2yo), Oliver (Pinehill Lonigan - 1yo) and Joseph (Pinehill Mulga Wire - 1yo). All available.

09.01.2022 Pinehill McIntyre will be offered for sale in the Berragoon Stud Sale in January. A two year old, Jack’s first son, from our lovely old TB mare Madonna, Mouse is quite a stunner. Athletic and fast with a very trainable temperament, this is the kind of horse we’re aiming to breed.

09.01.2022 So awesome to be back on this legend again. 8 weeks off and I just hopped on and went for a ride. Bloody marvellous.

09.01.2022 The baby boys doing their thing. They’re too cheeky to let me take a good pic but they’re growing so well. The brown guy is Oliver and the black guy is Joseph. Both getting close to weaning age.

09.01.2022 So awesome to be back on this legend again. 8 weeks off and I just hopped on and went for a ride, past the mares and all. Bloody marvellous. #pipersruncaptainthunderbolt

09.01.2022 What a massive weekend! I can’t say I’m not relieved we got through the Berragoon Sale and the heat in one piece. We managed to sell Pinehill Cool Constable and Pinehill Ellen and both will be going to wonderful new homes. We will be following their progress with keen interest! Pinehill McIntyre came home to be put out in a paddock for another year to mature before he is started under saddle. We do not start horses until they are three and that won’t be changing. Massive tha...nks to the amazing Kim Warne who was a very patient and hard-working strapper for me. And of course Charles Dean who kept the farm and kids alive and very well looked after while I was away. I’m really proud of our horses and how calm they were in such an intense environment. We got some really lovely comments - from the auctioneer no less! - and we know we’re on the right track. We are breeding horses for everyone that you can do a dressage test with one day and go campdrafting the next. The literal breed for every need!

08.01.2022 Jack ready for his early morning ‘date’. So hot today I’m up with the horses at 6am. A very full dance card at the moment with six mares to breed this week, and three now in season at the same time! Lucky he’s able to serve twice a day!

08.01.2022 The boys, 2-legged and 4-legged, fixing a trough. Like a proper work crew with one bloke doing the work and four supervising!

07.01.2022 All the kids enjoying the (almost) spring sunshine with mama Madonna in the background cooking the next Thunderbolt baby (a full sibling to Pinehill McIntyre on the far right).

06.01.2022 Jack feeling the spring grass!

06.01.2022 We’re here! The horses look great and seem to like the brand new banner (maybe a bit too much!). The pre-works went well last night and there’s a fantastic crowd here watching the polocrosse and campdrafting comps. Auction starts at 10:30am tomorrow - lots 12, 18 and 30. Info at https://www.berragoon.com/wordpress/home/for-sale... Berragoon ASH has a Facebook livestream too.

05.01.2022 A very tired Jack putting up with the obligatory ribbon photo. Second in the dressage phase on 80.68% and second in the maneability (obstacle) phase. Pilot error saw us eliminated in the speed phase (I missed an obstacle!) so no joy in the overall champion. A mob of very sticky cattle meant we didn’t get a score for that phase but apparently we were entertaining! Videos to come!

04.01.2022 Jack the wonder stallion at his first Working Equitation protocol day. What a little ripper this horse is. Scored really well, brave as anything and looking like such a grown up now. A tree even fell down and he just kept going. Now I just need to work on my fitness! Iso-weight isn’t doing us any favours! Not that Jack cares... I really love the Working Eq community too. Such a great bunch of people.

04.01.2022 And our third lot for the Berragoon Stud Sale is Pinehill Ellen. Three years old and just being started, she’s a sweet and smart girl. By Gamberlee Jaguar from a heritage mare, Bimbimbee Cleo, she’s going to make a great athlete.

03.01.2022 Jack is not a baby about anything except bath time. Lucky he didn’t land in a show home! He just HATES getting washed and prettied up. Such a bloke. We’re off to the Victoria Working Equitation State Championships tomorrow! So excited! #pipersruncaptainthunderbolt... #workingequitation #WENEV See more

02.01.2022 Lot 30 in the Berragoon Sale - Pinehill Cool Constable HSH A Cadillac of a horse! Sire: Yarrawa Cool Gunsmoke HSH... Dam: Kilburns Madonna TB See more

02.01.2022 Another freezing day and third day in a row without rugs being removed. Even the boys are looking forward to spring weather!

01.01.2022 And now Ellen has gone off to her new home at Shagmoore Stud to play some polocrosse. So pleased she’s going to such a lovely home. Bon voyage, Ellen!
