23.01.2022 If your car or property was damaged during the recent storms, we recommend you: 1. Lodge your insurance claim asap. 2. Don't pay a 3rd party to lodge or manage ...a claim with your insurer on your behalf. (Please get legal advice on 1300 527 700 if a claims agent has approached you and you signed a contract.) 3. If there is anything an insurer has told you that you don't understand, ask them questions. 4. If your insurance claim is refused, or you don’t get paid all you think you are entitled to please contact us for advice. 5. If your insurer asks you to take your car into an assessment centre and it is written off, you won't be able to drive it away. So make sure you have other transport organised just in case.... 13.01.2022 "Spotlight on a Service" The Lodge Youth Support Service Inc is a not-for-profit organisation located in Northgate. They operate an independent living skills program for homeless and at-risk young people aged 16-25. The program requires young people to have an income and be engaged in either education, employment or vocational training. The Program offers 24 hour, fully supported medium-term accommodation for homeless and disadvantaged young people aged from 16 to 25 years. ...Services available include supported accommodation, individual advice, tutoring in living skills (cooking, budgeting etc), housing advice, counselling, case management and follow up support. The Lodge Youth Support Service can be contacted by phone (3266 2155) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Alternatively, YSS is located at 106 Peary Street, Northgate QLD 4013.
