05.01.2022 Below is a summary of what to expect during your care and provide information on some of the more frequently asked questions relating to Chiropractic. Firstly, Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the jo...ints of the arms or legs, and headaches. The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of Chiropractic is known as a Chiropractic adjustment. The purpose of an adjustment is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become restricted in their movement as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. Injured tissues undergo changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Adjustment of the affected joint and tissues restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal. On your Initial consult there is a focus on assessment. It is my job to find out if you are in the right place. I need to know if any further testing will need to be done, whether I am able to manage your care and if you need to be referred to another health professional. Depending on the severity of your complaint, further tests such as X-rays may be ordered (Narrogin Hospital) and some form of treatment will be given. Your second visit is a review of findings. This will allow us to discuss/explore the specific findings of any tests and clinical assessment performed on your first visit. I will also recommend an initial care plan that is tailored to your individual needs. There will also be a comprehensive treatment, which will reflect your treatments over your initial care plan. Following the completion of your initial care plan, a review is done which will allow me to assess your progress and recommend any further action including rehabilitation or maintenance care. At any stage of your care I am available to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I look forward to working with you so we can see you return to full health as soon as possible.
