24.01.2022 The park committee wish to advise that the shower block is now open for use, we still have a few jobs to complete the project . When finished i shall post photos. Happy camping to all.

23.01.2022 The boys from Build Smart have been doing an outstanding job lining the hut and creating an island bench ready for the cooktops and sink to be installed. A fantastic job creating a cleaner and draft free camp kitchen. They have also tidied up a few concreting jobs around the park, making for a safer and more user friendly environment. We thank Daniel, David and Brandon for a very professional job with out much disturbance to our campers. One retired builder commented that some of the form work and concreting was amongst the best he had seen. ( high praise indeed). I will have more pictures as the job progresses. We will have the area tidied and useable prior to the music concert on the March long weekend. Until then happy camping and enjoy the great outdoors.

22.01.2022 Stage 2 of the hut renovation is now complete. We hope to raise enough funds in the near future to complete the kitchen install, but until then we now have a very neat and clean facility for everyone to use. Many thanks to Western electrics and the Build Smart crew for an outstanding job. The Pioneer Park committee is a volunteer, not for profit organisation and as such we aim to keep camping fees to a reasonably low level to cover our many spiralling costs, but also enable u...s to plan for upgrades in the future. All camping fees and donations go back into the park ensuring that patrons can get the best facilities that we can manage to provide. A very small committee of 6 people run and manage the park, but we are always looking for new members and helpers. The coming March long weekend will once again see the annual country music walk up concert, put together by a few local artists that just enjoy entertaining, a free event that is proving very popular, hope to see you here. Happy camping!! See more

21.01.2022 No need to Bring your dirty heavy fire pots to the park any more!! We may have been quiet on social media lately, but we have been busy at the park making many improvements. Council have assisted us in removal of a number of dangerous trees and limbs, "R U Stumped "ground away all those pesky stumps and the committee have been working hard installing a number of fire pots and improvements to play ground equipment. Please be aware that we are still undertaking some of these ta...sks as time permits for our working volunteers, to complete these jobs during a very busy time. Parents please supervise children around the excavated sites. A huge thanks goes to Tony Clarke who spent many hours and weekends excavating sites, and transporting equipment, Demolition Tasmania for supplying the rather large pavers for the pots and DeBruyn Transport for supplying a truck, we could not have attempted this job without your help. So bring your fire wood and relax! Happy camping. Riana Pioneer Park Committee. See more

20.01.2022 YES YES YES we are OPEN!! Time to come and enjoy the great outdoors. The park facilities now have disinfectant hand wash stations in each building with basins and notices indicating the safe number of people allowed for each area. Please observe these requirements and show courtesy to others in regards to the social distancing guidelines we have all become accustomed to. As a small volunteer run park we are only able to clean/ disinfect once daily and play equipment will not be cleaned. Please wash hands before and after using this equipment. Remember we do not take bookings for sites and they are available as first in best dressed with a maximum stay of 4 weeks.Happy Camping. Riana Pioneer Park Committee.

19.01.2022 Great news for all our friendly campers, at the park committees annual general meeting tonight we voted to keep our camping fees at the same prices as last season, ensuring an affordable great value camp ground. We welcome our new incoming president Mellisa Bell to the chair and thank past president Geoff Ingram for his service in this position. We will be concentrating over the next month or so( weather dependent) on tidying up the grounds which have much debris left afte...r the winter storms. We have set our next major project for the park is to replace the existing post and rail fence, which after many years has succumbed to old age and needs replacing. We have a plan to build a fence honouring the pioneers of the district with a walking timeline along the fence, featuring the family names of those that have contributed and lived in this area. Stay tuned for more details later. Until then its time to start getting ready for the holiday season. Cheers from The park committee. See more

07.01.2022 We are saddened to report the theft of our donation box from the park on Monday evening the 5th of Dec by several people who clearly have no respect for others property. The matter has been referred to the police, With some hope the offenders will be caught. So please be patient until we are able to replace the donation box with something more robust, we know people appreciate the facilities and many donate to help the volunteer committee manage this facility. To all our many friends out there in facebook land we wish you all a joyful christmas and a prosperous new year.

03.01.2022 We are proud to announce the arrival of our new donation box, weighing a healthy 122 kilograms and 221 cm long with no sign of jaundice . The committee wish it a long and fruitful life. We would like to thank everyone for all the heartfelt comments about our last post. Remember Tis the season to go camping. Safe travels and happy holidays from the Riana Pioneer Park Committee.

03.01.2022 Great news!! Due to the generosity of the patrons at the March long weekend music concert and other donations we are now in a position to complete the camp kitchen. We have engaged the builders to complete this task and also to modify one of the toilet cubicles to be disabled friendly. We hope this work will be completed before the next holiday season. Until then stay warm and start planning those holidays!

03.01.2022 A huge thank you to all that helped today at our working bee to clean up the park grounds and catch up on some much needed maintenance. A special thank you to Mitch and Jacinta who brought up their daughters from Burnie and toiled all day heaping up bark. Thanks to Sharmans butchery for their support for our BBQ lunch which was enjoyed by all. The park is starting to enjoy the warmer weather and volunteers did a wonderful job cleaning up many of the garden beds, as usual it will be difficult to keep up with the grass over the next 4 months but we will do the best we can. A small microwave has now been added to the camp kitchen and floors have been pressure cleaned. We wish everyone all the best for the upcoming get out and relax season.

03.01.2022 Wow things can happen so quickly, the park committee have been successful in receiving a Federal Govt grant to renovate the inside of the showers. This grant will cover approximately 40% of the project cost and have allowed us to bring this project forward 12 months. A special thank you to Justine Keay for nominating us for this grant and her office staff for assisting with the application process. Contractors will commence this task this Monday, 11th of December and will ta...ke approximately 3 days. Volunteers will be removing seats sinks etc, this Sunday to allow this work to commence and refitting next Friday provided the finish has cured. Please be aware that the shower facilities will be closed this coming week from Sunday, 10/12/17 until Friday 15/12/17. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however the end result will be worth the wait. Regards the Pioneer Park Committee. See more

01.01.2022 After many years of planning we will have builders doing some much needed renovations to some of the park buildings this week.(Monday 6/2/17 , for approximately a week) Some concreting will be done to improve the bottom shelter shed , lining of the open building ( the hut) in the centre of the park ready to install the camp kitchen and other tidy up jobs around the park. I am sure the boys from Build Smart and Western Electrics will minimise the impact on campers during this time. We ask that campers during this period show tolerance towards them as we strive to improve the facilities for all patrons. Regards the Pioneer Park Committee.

01.01.2022 WE WILL BE OPENING SOON! We have received a number of enquires lately as to when we will reopen, currently Covid 19 guidelines are allowing camping for up to 20 people to return on June 15. However due to the park being an unmanned site we are unable to ensure that the number limits are adhered to. So rather than open up, then having to ask people to leave if occupancy numbers exceed the regulatory requirements, we are aiming for full resumption of services on July 13. Openin...g on this date will only happen if our volunteer committee can satisfy the sanitation requirements set out in government regulations. On a happier note the committee have taken this opportunity to undertake some much needed rehabilitation around the park and some much needed maintenance, the communal fire pit will soon be completed for everyone to enjoy. Please use this time to ensure your camping equipment is well maintained, caravans and RVs are safe to operate so we may all enjoy that much needed break from reality. Regards.
